About this listen

An eye-opening memoir of family drama, stardom, despair, and resilience from the wildly popular wrestling superstar.

Saraya-Jade Bevis, formerly WWE’s Paige, is one of the biggest names in the wrestling world. She is the youngest two-time WWE Divas Champion and was inaugural NXT’s Women Champion. She ranked first in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Female 50 and was named Diva of the Year by Rolling Stone in 2014. She was also the subject of the critically and commercially successful 2019 film Fighting with My Family, produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and starring Florence Pugh. But before ascending to wrestling superstardom, she was just Saraya.

Hell in Boots is Saraya’s real, uncensored, story. From her early days in her famous (and chaotic) wrestling family, to leaving home at fifteen, to forging her own path in professional wrestling, Saraya has been through hell and back. As she fought to make it in the incredibly competitive—and at times sexist—wrestling world, she faced incredible highs and devastating lows. Saraya recounts years of struggling with substance abuse, clawing back her pride after an ex’s sex tape leaked, adjusting to stardom in the WWE, healing from a nearly career-ending injury, a making triumphant return to wrestling as AEW Women’s World Champion. Through it all, Saraya tells her whole truth in a way she never has before.

I would say the story of Saraya (Paige) deserves a movie made about her, but that’s been done so let’s move on…

This is a very personal account into a life that is a real rollercoaster, from a tough young life, making it as a wrestler, the injuries, the self destruction, and early retirement, before the turn around and return to the ring.

Highly worth listening to, and as it’s read by Saraya, you get the added emotion that a random narrator wouldn’t convey.

A rollercoaster of a life story.

Brilliant, albeit some parts are very difficult and raw to get through from an emotional viewpoint, but well worth the listen.

Wow! I was not expecting this roller coaster ride and to think Saraya is still so young. This is a story of a strong, fierce woman who has been through so many tough times and come through the other side. Saraya manages to tell her story, while being vulnerable and relatable, without asking for an ounce of pity and no "woe is me attitude". This is an excellent read for anyone, not just wrestling fans. Highly recommend

Raw, honest & gripping

Like many who have heard of Saraya from seeing her on WWE or watching the film Fighting With My Family, I didn’t know what to expect. However true to herself, Saraya’s book has a lot of moments of sheer honesty in telling her life story where your heart goes out to her & it feels like she’s having a conversation by referring to you as the ‘Listener’ at various points in the book. Even better that it was read by Saraya herself! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves wrestling or a really well written & spoken book.

Heartbreaking… Inspiring… Real…
