About this listen

Delusion is the ideal place to rest on a painful journey to the truth.

David Nunn considers himself a good man. Employed as a counsellor for a mental health charity in North London, his typical day revolves around broken minds and dysfunctional lives.

Then, one day in January, a young man staggers into the charity’s office; no appointment booked and seemingly in the grip of a drug-induced episode. David reluctantly agrees to see the young man.

It proves a brief but fateful encounter.

Within days of that meeting, two men gate-crash David’s life; their motives wildly different but each making a demand. What they both have in common is their propensity for violence and deep-rooted psychological issues.

As his world descends into turmoil, David must decide if one of those men can save him from the other. Perhaps more importantly, can he save a self-confessed headcase from himself?

I loved this series. Feel a bit sad it’s over. Ain’t got no more words doll !

I’ll miss Clem

Lovely ending. Strange to start there but it has been a journey. Almost an expectation of another witty fabulous episode. My only gripe is the endless repetition of ‘my wife ‘. I have never heard anyone use this so many times instead of just using her name. It’s not as if we don’t know who she is. David was a bit gormless too. Endless inane unnecessary questions That said I still love Keith A Pearson’s books and am feeling bereft. On with Mungo Thunk I think.

Farewell Clement?

Good old fashioned against the clock adventure stuff again. Not terribly challenging, but it’s not meant to be. My only criticism is, again, the author creating a co-principal character who is, on occasion, pretty stupid. It’s a minor irritation though. This has been a fun series to listen to whilst doing boring jobs or relaxing before bed. Good stuff, recommended for a bit of fun escapism.

Very enjoyable

I’ve really enjoyed this series and I’m gutted it’s over.

Very good ending and a good conclusion to the series.

Another masterpiece

A twist of fate takes our hero out of his mundane drudgery and he discovers things about himself and his wife to take into thier future. A second twist into something far more out of the norm as someone who's there to help has a far stranger story. Really entertaining, keeps on track and carries you into place and situations. A***

real life with a twist

Despite the author being a little weak in the clem stakes, the story is probably one of the best so far, and wraps up beautifully.

Travel through adversity and come out with wanting more, this time another adventure, that sees 2 people fix a seemingly impossible situation.

Thoroughly enjoyed and want more.

Another gripping listen

I have enjoyed all four books in this series. This final book completes Clement’s story and in a very satisfying way. The narrator of this book was very good as were all the others. You definitely need to listen to these books in order. It’s hard to identify what genre they belong ng to. Humour , thrillers, supernatural with great characters including Landon which plays a large role in these books .
I will miss Clement!

The end of the story!

Tough going at the start - feels a little too familiar/formula? - but that's deliberate. So stick with it, as it sets up a very unexpected and satisfying conclusion. Right down the very last sentence

Turns right when I was expecting left!
