Very good.
I really liked this, couple of minor bits that grated where characters made naive choices but soon forgotten as the plot moves on. A few twists and some un-twists, no-spoilers, but there were some aspects where you thought ah-ha this is going to be fixed with XXX and then it wasn't. Emma Gregory's narration of each faction is excellent and well balanced.
By the way it's basically a sequel to Faith and Fire but while some bits will make more sense if you've read F+F I don't think you don't have to have listened / read Faith first, it stands alone well enough. F+F was good, this is better.

Great story
Great story that keep unfolding thrue the book , times it was very predictable but then these type of storys are some times. The performance was staggerimg at times but i enjoyed it alot , a great listen And a realy Nice book

Keeping faith when all hope is lost!
Really love James Swallow's take on the sisters. Nice to see any representation at all. its interesting to see interaction with other imperial factions beyond the ecclisiarchy (in this case ad mech) and necrons make an interesting antagonist. Nice to move away from just sisters vs heretics.
The new characters feel distinct, an issue i had with the first book. And the sisters feel like they have more agency than just being the jack boots of the church. Emma Gregory's narration is lovely and her character voices help keep track of expanded cast; from the raspy necrons to the perfidious ad mech. Her sombre descriptions of the necron tomb world of sanctuary 101 add a necessary gravitas to the eldirtch horror written by Swallow.
Overall required listening by anyone interested in sisters of battle, and a marked improvement over the first book!

gripping and well delivered
really enjoyed listening to this, especially straight after the previous installment.
With that in mind it was slightly jarring at first to hear the narrator pronounce the main characters name differently from when she read it in the previous book.
otherwise I loved it!

We're the aliens...
Hot on the heels of finishing Faith and Fire, I jumped straight into Hammer and Anvil. Although Hammer and Anvil has some great voice acting and really sucks it to the Adeptus Mechanicum - or parts of it. The story, at times, seems to drag a little with wavering pacing and a few dull scenes.
Recommended as worth a listen as, overall, the enjoyment factor and more lively parts of the story help balance everything out - but if you have not already, make sure to check out some of the other Sisters of Battle titles too.

good story
lt was nice and thrilling story. interesting portraying of sororitas and mechanicum. Only thing which is bothering me are sisters of battle Levell of fanatism .l think. they should be less humane and kind.

awesome book - great characters from a previous book, Emma Gregory does a fantastic job of bringing all the characters to life. she is easily one of my favourite narrators and really takes James swallows book to the next level ❤

a good sororitas story
I enjoyed the Imperium factional tension between mechanicus and sororitas and how they try to out-do each other. I felt that the Necron perspectives were well-portrayed. I found it interesting seeing Myriah try to come to terms with her given rank, but at the same time, not deny that she knows that she is an experienced sister of battle. Mysteries are are well-paced from each other and each explained in a timely manner.

a true audiobook masterwork
James Swallow is a superb writer and this story demonstrates why he is now part of Black Library
As ever Emma Gregory narrates with a constancy that shows a great understanding of both character and context.
