Summary

A practical, easy guide for expecting parents, Grow Healthy Babies provides clear and simple steps for a healthy pregnancy and preventing chronic diseases including asthma, eczema, and allergies. Written by lifelong allergy sufferers who wanted their own children to grow up healthy, this is the comprehensive guidebook every parent needs.

As parents, we wish for our children to live happy, healthy lives - but we are facing an epidemic of chronic diseases. Half of all babies born today will develop allergies, and up to a third will become asthmatic or suffer from eczema. You don't have to accept these odds.

Through simple and natural food and lifestyle choices during and after pregnancy, you can lower your baby's risk of developing a chronic illness by up to 90 percent. Referencing over 660 scientific studies, Grow Healthy Babies shows you how.

You'll discover:

  • How friendly bacteria, your microbiome, shape both your and your baby's immune system
  • Which foods, supplements, birth choices, and feeding practices make a real difference to your baby's health
  • Why environmental factors and certain household products can trigger chronic disease, and how to choose healthier alternatives

This audiobook shows you how to let your and your baby's health flourish, thus increasing your baby's chances of growing up happy, strong, and free from the burden of chronic disease.

Such an amazing informative book!

Being a midwife and having my little girl recently I am always on the hunt for new information books to expand my knowledge for not only me and my family but the women I look after. The evidence based knowledge in this book is brilliant and so so helpful!

I have really learnt a lot and will definitely be making changes in my life and educating women and their families that I look after. It’s all the things I thought made sense but to have it all in one book and with the studies to back it really makes a difference. Thank you so much for writing this book!

Very informative!

I loved listening to this book. It was just what I needed. I had stopped taking as good of care of myself as I should. Blaming it on the pandemic and being too busy juggling work and a toddler.
I feel refocused and equipped with the information I need to move forward with taking better care of my body for future children. There are so many great tips on how and where to get started making changes that have the biggest impact on your micro biome and in turn, your child’s future health.
I love all the extra links and information you can access on their website to further guide you in various aspects of specific topics. The research stated is supported by collection of scientific studies but personalised by the author’s own journey.
I highly recommend this book.

Inspiring guide to better health!

This is a highly recommendable and inspiring read!
The authors have done an amazing work with the research in combination with real life examples and personal experiences. The book made me so inspired that I went straight to the shop to cook something fresh for me and my family:-) And it is important to point out; you don’t need to be pregnant to find this book extremely interesting; I rather think a suitable title would be “how to grow healthy humans”. We are all more conscious of our health these days, and this book provides a good case for and solid evidence for how we, step by step and by simple methods, can lead better lives by eating healthy and safe. Go listen!

All the information was explained in an easy and entertaining way. The truth is that I would highly recommend this audiobook to every parent to be.

Some biases on the diet side of things

This book seemed to have a bias towards meat eating. There is lots of good research that is current showing that a plant based diet is better for heart health and anti-cancer properties.
