Summary
A young woman, out jogging in the woods, finds a body.
Eleanor Blackwood discovers a woman's body in the same spot in the woods where her mother was strangled eighteen years previously. But before the police can get there, the body vanishes.
Is Eleanor's disturbed mind playing tricks on her again, or has her mother's killer resurfaced? And what does the number on the dead woman's forehead signify?

Good story
This book has a good story line but I felt something was off throughout. The characters were not believable and I spent much of the time thinking somehow I had missed something. Perhaps because the author kept alluding to things and then didn't follow it through. Nevertheless, apart from the poor accents, (Ellie's father sounded like a brummie) i quite enjoyed it

Spoiled by extremely poor voice characterisation.
Very poor Cornish accents in this narration, which were all over the place and not often Cornish, spoiled this book for me. All the males voices sounded the same with the exception of the 'father' which even sounded Brummie. If there are distinctive regional accents they need to be spoken by a native speaker.

Well I enjoyed it
I like a mystery and this was defintely that. Despite bad reviews, I really did enjoy this novel. Not one I would wish to re-read but good enough to capture my attention whilst I worked. If you are looking for great literature then this will not be for you but good enough to keep going.

Boring and Dull
Could have been better with less repetitive detail. Dragged on and on. I also found the narration irritating. Cringed every time.some of the characters opened their mouths. Wouldn’t rush to read another of Jane Holland’s books.

Narration inaudible
I only managed four chapters before I had to give up. The narrators awful accent ruined it.

Action packed.
An absolutely gripping story! A lot of suspense and suspicion. Eleanor is caught up in a psychopaths twisted machinations. Who can she trust?

Engrossing
Enjoyed the storyline, sussed who the killer was earlier in the book. Was hoping to have kept me guessing a bit longer than it did

The readers voice
The readers voice was so annoying when she read the Male roles with the accents.
Otherwise a good story.

Narration was torture
It's hard to rate the actual story because the narration is just unbearable. The accents/voices for different characters, especially male, are just bad. The story is ok, drags on a bit in a somewhat predictable fashion, but do yourself a favor and read this one instead of listening if you must.

Somewhat entertaining
The summary of the book pretty much tells you what you need to know. A few more bodies do show up during the story though. Most of the time when reviewers complain about narration I don't find it as terrible. This narration however was bad! I cringed when she did male voices. They all were some sort of creaky cockney, as irritating as nails on a chalk board.

riveting
I was completely lost in the story. The author paints her landscape of characters with such perfection I can see them. It was a thriller that started out strong and didnt let up on the gas.

Might have liked it.
Could not hear narration of book, so wasn't able to "read" it. Don't know what the issue was.
