About this listen

I summon the lightning.

I claim my power.

The warlocks of Icarus Academy claim me.

I start my night as a cat burglar in Singapore and I end up queen of the witching world. Too bad this rags-to-riches fairytale's a gig I never applied for and won't accept. My witchcraft is wild and lethal, so I've renounced my power. I'm a fish out of water at Icarus Academy.

But these four sexy warlocks who rule the school just won't take no for an answer.

They want me to claim my power. They want me to summon the lightning. And they want to claim me as their consort.

Because the witching world is dying, and I'm their last chance. But there's a queen killer on the hunt. Unless I figure out how to claim my power before the killer claims my head, there's a global extinction event looming.

With my name written all over it.

Listen for an intense dark witch academy why choose paranormal romance that delivers teacher-student forbidden love, steamy group interactions, possessive males, sexy shifters, first-time M/M, bi awakening, a lightning witch heroine who doesn't have to choose, and enough heat to set your Academy uniform on fire.

Paranormal Reverse Harem

Story: The story is has good promise and I really want to enjoy the world building, but everything falls a bit flat. The idea of a world with magic going extinct is interesting, but doesn't have enough details to actually fulfill its promise. Details that would flesh out the story and world were missing and instead extra "intimate" scenes fill most of the 16 hours of this audio book. I'd definitely put this under 'fast burn' as we go 'hi, just met you, I don't like you, I don't know your name, but steamy time!'

Performance: The narrator is also the author. I find the accents and dialog difficult to separate and it took until a male character was described as having a deep voice, to realize that it was even a male. All the characters sound whiny and spoiled with rather high pitched voices, which is jarring when a voice is described as 'deep and rumbley'. I think one of the girls was described as being from 'down under' but her accent was more 'new jersey'.

Summary: The actual story has so much potential, which is sadly ruined by the author attempting to be a narrator and I'm guessing their own editor. This had soooo much promise, but yet failed to deliver. Recommendation, spend your credit elsewhere.

Great story - bad narration

Girl!!!! Why did you do this?! Could’ve been a great audiobook just needed different narrators! Little to no change of tone of voice and accents are baddd

The story itself is good so I think I’ll read the book rather than listen to it… disappointing but we move 👏🏼
