Summary

Best-selling author Anita Waller is back with a twisting, fast-paced listen, perfect for fans of domestic noir.

When a gang of six children playing in their den in the woods spot a man burying drugs nearby, it marks the beginning of the end of their childhoods. Unsure what to do, the children dig up the drugs and take them away. But when the dealer, whom they watched bury the stash, shows up dead, the youngsters are thrown into turmoil.

Scared of what might happen, the children tell the police about the body they have discovered. Meanwhile, a group of gangsters start searching for their missing drugs. Soon the children and their families become the target of the vicious criminals who will stop at nothing to retrieve their narcotics....

I’m loving this author, only recently discovered her. I also love the fact that she talks about an area I know. This story held my interest from page one I couldn’t put it down. Excellent narration too.

Enjoyable storyline

This was a great book. Cleverly written and performed.
It tells the story of a group of young friends who unfortunately find a bag of drugs and a dead body. Good story by Anita Waller.

Enjoyed

Initially thought it was a bit of an unusual set up but actually got into it and the characters who were all made personable and mostly likeable even if they were ‘baddies’. The children were handled sensitively.

Low grade fiction

The whole plot was deeply implausible and the writing left much to be desired. Sorry. Not for me.
