Summary
Jaxxon Carter, barmaid, would like nothing more than to better her current situation. A one-bedroomed flat, a sleazy landlord, drug-addicted neighbors - not exactly a childhood dream. Good listen
I get what everyone was saying about the English accents lol I wasn’t expecting them to be quite so bad, more an Australian mix but I found it easy to get over after the first chapter but still made me chuckle throughout the book. I enjoyed the story, worth a read.

loved the story hated the narrator
oh dear! I usually love this author's book and indeed the story was not disappointing however the narrator was so very wrong for this. Her "English " accent seemed to fly from the UK to Australia ( via the US) so often I was jet lagged by the end of the book!

This was a brilliant book I've read over again and again and always wanted it on aubible. I was surprised you chose an American voice to read this as it was set in London. Emma Wilder does a great job and her accents are great, it's a joy to listen to.

Great book
Wonderful story and great characters. Full of drama, and suspense and intrigue. Awesome narration too. Can’t wait to read more from this author

Good story but slightly spoilt by bad accents
I really like this author and her books, and have love her other books I’ve listened to. However, this was really spoiled by the terrible Dick Van Dyke esq narration. This narrator is usually fabulous and does top notch narration in her own accent, but this faux cockney/British with Aussie slips was dire. Please, please to whoever produces audiobooks, poor accents can literally ruin a book. Why did you think this was ok??? I’ve heard some absolute stinkers and I cannot see how they passed any kind of standard check. Get a real native narrator or don’t bother. It really is such a shame when this happens. I also hope this review is not censored as I’m finding if they are negative they go ‘missing’. That is also not OK. , and Audible don’t respond to questions why🤔

Awful English accents - A Hard Listen
Without the ridiculous accents this could’ve been an easier read. Story seemed rushed towards the end but overall ok.

What a change
Such a change, an enjoyable one, from the others books I have by this great author. I prefer her paranormal series but would certainly try anything she writes.
I love the narrator too - I'm used to her narration from a different author, stories based in New Zealand, and so found her British accent better than most American narrators.

Loved this!
Wasn't sure if I'd like this story as the characters were not my normal read but I really loved it! There was lots of intrigue, romance, important topics, great characters and good narration. Thank you 📚.
