Very Informative
I thoroughly liked this book. In sharp contrast to so many other books out there on the French Revolution, this one read like a fast-paced action novel!

French revolution
This is a great piece for those who want an intro to the ideas of the French revolution. It also promptly describes its campaigns in Europe, which will definitely spark more research for those engaged in military history.

Bizarre narration
A decent overview from the royalist perspective, and very sympathetic to the monarchy. Requires a basic understanding of events beforehand. narration is bizarre--sounds digital and the pronunciation is all over the place; not just the French, but the English too.

It's livre, NOT leaves
The first part, about the Revolution, was well thought out, with a good timeline to keep things straight.
The second part about Marie Antionette seems fairly comprehensive, and sympathetic to her plight. However, the narrator was AWFUL. If someone is going to read a story professionally, they should be able to pronounce the most basic French words, let alone English ones. Versays is not correct, nor is dolphin, or leaves, or mestress or cont. Hardly a paragraph passes without some terrible assault on a magical, musical language. Shame on you CH.

Wrong title
This book is about Marie-Antoinette, not about the French Revolution or Napoleon. Good story, but wrong title.

Its Good Enough
It was good though the military aspects of the French revolution were given short shrift the details of the revolution were good.

Easy to understand
Very easy to understand but a little tense. Tension and tragedy of a thriller period described in a non-thriller way. Gives ample factual knowledge about the French nation of the period. A complicated history made simple.
