Summary

Ascending should have been the easy part.

But after being thrown into the void, Thorn finds himself stranded in a strange world filled with even stranger creatures.

Together with his cute battle pet, the mysterious god beast Hati, and a sentient AI named Eve, Thorn must forge a place for himself in this new world. Unfortunately, the local guilds all have other ideas, and soon the Titan finds himself embroiled in plots that even his famed strength cannot help him with.

Rallying his strengths and learning how to fix his weaknesses will be the absolute minimum Thorn needs to survive, but if he wants to thrive he’ll be forced to take risks that put his life—and the lives of his friends—on the line.

Forgemaster is the first book in the Tower Series, a GameLit/LitRPG series from Seth Ring, bestselling author of Battle Mage Farmer series and the Titan series. It is set in world of Nova Terra and starring the unforgettable Thorn, and if you like immersive storytelling, rich fantasy, and epic adventures with a slice of friendship thrown in, you’ll love this thrilling series.

Listen to Forgemaster and escape to the grand world of epic adventure. Endless worlds await!

A WELCOME START TO THE TOWER SERIES

Seth Ring has fast become one of my favourite authors. The running joke of Thorn being over powered for the majority of Nova Terra, is quickly stripped away after ascending. Though Thorn still has a few perks up his sleeves, it has to be said that it takes a little time to get used to.
The Tower series, has brought in a new I would say " traditional " litrpg style leveling system. I just hope Seth avoids the issue i have found with one or two series where they had 6 to 7 minutes of audio stats to listen to.
The new characters have been given a solid base and that I assume will be built on in the coming books.
Overall it is a fine addition to the series. though i do recommend that you listen to the previous nova Terra books before this one.

NOT THE FIRST BOOK

Ok this book is a continuation of the authors Titan series. Kept assuming there'd be more explanation or flashbacks or something. Totally misrepresented. That said it IS a good book. Good balance of crafting and magic and fighting. Nothing feels shallow and MC isn't the typical 'genius{moron}'. Worth a credit if you can keep up.

IT'S A PRETTY GOOD LISTEN

This is a good listen,, if you have been following the nova terra series then you will be fine, but this should not be the first book read to get introduced to Thorn, however, the author does imply its part of an ongoing series in title...some of the strength/power differences are explained by Eve and I think it's a reasonable explanation (bear in mind that I have read the other series).

No...

narrator was fine with how they portrayed everything, but the moment I realized the author had a planned "reset" the story stopped mattering. NO reader/ listener wants to deal with character resets of any kind.

Continuation of NovaTerra

Didn’t realize the next book in the Nova Terra series was a completely different series. I loved this new book. Cool to see him in a new system with a new group. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Immersion in a new world

I have read the previous books about Thorn and enjoyed them immensely. Seeing the character find his way in a new place with new limitations is fascinating.

Not a "book 1"

This is a continuation series... if you intend to lessen to the base series, this book has spoilers in it!
