thirteen in a dozen

This was a fluffy romance with nothing to remember. No tension, interchangeble characters, but well read.

Wonderful

I loved how this story was brought to life. Billy and Tanner were made for each other. I loved how Nadine embraced Tanner's coming out. Loved the dual narration

Adorable!

New adult
Small Town
First Love

Two boys, one discovering who he is; growing into himself. The other growing into his reality of falling in love and being in love with his high school fantasy.

This book was over all too sweet for me. It was well written and the story was lovely; I just don’t think I was the right audience.

Great surprise

I bought this audiobook without any expectation, thinking it'll be a nice "background book" to listen to while doing something else but I was wrong! Such a nice surprise!
It's a great feel good book with loving characters.
There're isn't crazy plot twists, the story is "simple" but pleasant and I didn't get bored one bit!
The sex scenes are hot however not overpowering the story which I appreciate.
I laughed out loud for the first time listening to an audio book!

The narration is great! I personally don't mind having 2 narrators, I'm really used to it from many othe audiobooks and I like the 2 dimensions it gives to the narration. Both narrators are doing a great job and their voice really correspond to the character they each narrate.
Not being a native English speaker I might be wrong but for me the accent are on point and enjoyable.

I'll defenetly read more books from this autor and highly recommend this one!!

I love a man who can cook

The biggest problem with this book is that it will make you very, very hungry. And not just for the delicious food that Billy produces.

So good, I keep coming back for more.

Narration was... bof!

The story's OK. Characters are good, I mean not very original, but interesting. All in all, good book. BUT, the narration is really not okay. It's always a bit confusing when there are two narrators reading full chapters because they speak for both main characters. So, Sean Crisden reads Tanner's chapters while Chris Chambers reads Billy's. When it is Sean reading and speaking for Billy, his voice is really unpleasant and gives Billy's character a completely different vibe. The more I went into the narration, the more I was upset with that and it was difficult to listen even if I wanted too know the end of the story.
When there are two readers, each one should read their full character's part and not switch chapters.

Narrator

It was a cute story. I was not a big fan of two different narrators in this book. Depending on who was narrating, the character had a different feel to me. With Sean Crisden, Billy seemed meek. Not sure how I liked that. Good story though. HEA

Steamy Romance, but Bad Narration

Even though there are two different narrators they sound... EXACTLY the same. Its impossible to tell which narrative you're in.

If you like this book you will like the series

I found the story to be a little archetypal; both Billy and Tanner are closer to tokens of erotic fantasy than actual characters. The book very much has an escapist edge to it and at best it is a tasteful melodrama. Banner also really struggles with wrapping up stories and his endings-especially this one-drag. With that said if you are looking for a light m/m romance this is a good one.

I really like the recording and writing technique of having two different narrators. I know some people might find this confusing but I like the implicit shift in perspective. Chambers is the better performer but I just think listening to two different people tell same love story compelling.

Perfect

Perfect, I have read this story 1000000 times and I will continue to read it. It had a perfect plot and narrator. I am so glad I got audible because I got to listen to this book.

Trapped in a two dimensional world

I typically don’t watch, listen, or pay attention to GLBTQA media or art driven platforms as I find they only represent a small amount of what it means to be human. I enjoyed the concept of Football Sundae as a story but found it completely unbelievable as it trapped me in a unrealistic gay man’s fantasy from the Midwest. The characters became laughable as the story progressed as well as the language used to describe the main characters interactions. While the world has progressed greatly in the acceptance of GLBTQA issues it seems that the emotional intelligence of the population still needs work. It was also disappointing of how the “gay” accent slowly crept into the narration. I give the voice actors props for not laughing out loud while reading the text. Perhaps one day the world will have truly authentic stories of gay love that is not littered with stereotypes and cheap sexual references. I was hoping for something fun and entertaining but I received a reminder of how emotionally undeveloped gay men can be...

This book was out of this world amazing

After listening to this INCREDIBLE story. I wish I could find my own guy to share a football sundae with. I ended up reading the books out of order because I wasn't sure if I would like them. But after reading Rebel book 5. I was hooked and needed to know more about the sexy guys of Spruce Texas. I don't know about anybody else but I like the way Daryl Banner writes. He gives so much detail that you feel like you know the Strongs and the Tuckers personally like you are a friend of the family. And he makes you feel like you are w part of The Spruce Texas community. I am going to be sad when I read the last book and have to leave Spruce Texas. I am enjoying my time there. I highly recommend listening to all 5 books in the series. And I would say it is best to read them in order starting here. Not like I did with book 5 because I did not realize their AWESOMENESS.
