Summary
Sequel to Firefly Lane, now a major Netflix series, Kristin Hannah's Fly Away is the story of three women who have lost their way and need each other – plus a miracle – to transform their lives...
Celebrity news reporter and presenter, Tully Hart, has hit rock bottom. Kate Ryan had been her best friend for more than thirty years. They’d lived, laughed, danced and cried together. Kate had been her anchor, and now Tully was cast adrift – not knowing how she was going to survive.
Kate’s daughter, Marah, was only sixteen years old when her mother died. Consumed with guilt over the fights they’d had during the last months of Kate’s life, Marah runs away and becomes a drop-out in society, maintaining no contact with her family.
Tully’s mother, Cloud, a child of the Sixties, has lived a world of her own dependent on drugs for most of her adult life. She now wants to prove that she can help her daughter. But what will it take for Tully to forgive?
And then something momentous happens which causes each one of them to realize what they’ve done, and what they have become.
This audiobook also contains a reading group guide with Kristin Hannah.

Captivating
Wow this was just brilliant. I was a little worried as although I loved Firefly Lane I’ve since watched the brilliant TV series and this obviously deviates from the novel. So I was worried I would struggle to get back in synch with these firefly lane characters. But Kristin Hannah effortless weaves us back into their world and I have to say I haven’t been hooked on a book like I was hooked on this one for a little while. Shed some tears towards the end… and felt very sad to be saying goodbye to the family on the final listen

A Wonderful Read
Once again Kristin has brought us a beautiful story of love, rejection, friendship and new hope. By the end of this sequel to Fire Fly Lane we know every inch of the light & darkness of Tully’s life. I enjoyed every minute of this story. Thank you Kristin

Brings you closer
Brings you closer to Kate and Tully but also cloud/Dorothy. It was good to hear her side of the story and Marah’s!

Miserable.
Couldn’t finish it so can’t comment if it improves, but I found this unnecessarily miserable and self indulgent, which is disappointing having loved the prequel.

I cried, cried and cried some more…
Very emotional book…loved it. Read it after Firefly Lane to enjoy it to the fullest. Compulsive reading…didn’t want it to end.

loved it, probably more than Firefly Lane
This book is really relatable and definitely focuses on the emotional responses to life events ordinary and thankfully more rare.

Beautiful story
A beautiful story that continues from Firefly Lane, focusing on how the family are coping or not following the death of Kate. I cried so much listening to this and when it goes back to Cloud\Dorothy's early days. Both this book and Firefly Lane will stay with me for a very long time.

Sad to say I was disappointed
I was so excited to download this book! I love all Kristin Hannah books, especially Fire Fly Line so when I saw a sequel has been released I had very high hopes. The book started a little dark which was to be expected (given the ending of Firefly Lane) but the darkness and depression carried on all the way through. The storyline seemed very repetitive, boring, lacking depth and was predictable at times.
The best part was the chapters learning about Dorothy/Clouds life and her beginnings! Definitely a book could have been written about her!!
