Summary
In dangerous Fort Dallas, Rachel is untouchable. All she has to do is hand over her panties every day. Sure, it's weird, but it keeps her safe, right? And if there's a reason behind it, she doesn't care.
Until she finds out that she's dragon bait. That changes things.
To stay in the fort's sheltering walls, Rachel needs to "befriend" a dragon and establish a mental connection with him. Drakoni male Jurik may be protective of her, and caring...but he's still a dragon, and just as lost to the madness as any of them. He can't be trusted. No dragon can. Rachel wears the scars from the last time she tangled with one, so seducing one seems absurd.
Or...is it?
Because Jurik doesn't see her scars...all he sees is her. Is he her worst nightmare? Or everything she needed?
Contains mature themes.

I usually enjoy this series.
I’ve been reading this series from its very beginning and I’ve been looking forward to the next installment. Unfortunately, I didn’t really care for this book
The heroine was a waffle - she went back-and-forth and back-and-forth and back-and-forth, where the other heroines in the previous books were all very self-assured in spite of handicaps or losses.
This heroine gave so many mixed signals I felt sorry for the poor dragon. And it seemed to drag on for too long. I think we were in chapter 20-something when they finally got together after a lot of back and forth and confusion.
There is only one single point of action, too. There was lots of action in the other books where the main characters ran into various people and had to get out of various situations. In this book, there was just one single event. After that, the book was over. Bleh.

Great story!
I love it when authors have main characters that aren't perfect. Taking someone with scars and missing limbs and turning them into a sexy heroine is awesome and Ruby did it very well. Also really liked the arc when Jurik thinks he's been played and the drama that caused. It was done so well and not drawn out into an hours long poor me narrative. I can't wait for the next book to find out more about the rift and the next couple! Narrators again were wonderful, Thank you so much Noelle and Jeremy for all the work you put into making this audio book so wonderful.

Quite entertaining
This series has an interesting storyline and each book is moving it forward; I can’t wait to see what the rift holds, it sounds quite menacing. The naïveté of Rachel was a bit much at times, she was such a tease and waffler. Jeremy and Noelle are doing a great job narrating. I have missed this series and back now to finish it or listen to the remaining books left in series.

👏👏👏❤️
another great story!! back to the fort that started it all, Azar now in charge. the panty program was creative and kinda funny to imagine. I liked that we started with a semi sane dragon this time to switch things up a bit. I love this series and the narration is fantastic. sometimes the human females seem a bit dense and they fixate on others a bit too much kinda detracting from the couple vibes at times.... but overall it's fantastic. things took an unexpected turn to finally glimpse the rift up close.

love ❤️
I can't get enough of this series! I hope another book is coming out it would be disappointing for this to be the last. This series has it all the adventure and characters of the world makes me want more! I also enjoy the sexy spice and how it flows with the story line.

Not up to Ruby's standard...
I'm a big fan of Ruby's work... The arc of the story line was in line with the dragon series, but the big letdown was the readers... believed none of the sex work of the male character... The female role was better, but I thought somewhat too consistent... Listen and sub your own voices...

Let’s move along the plot…
Without just repeating the same story line over and over again. We get it - dragons don’t know how to kiss, humans don’t want to mate with dragons at the beginning, etc etc. To have this story take place this close to the end of the series, where the plot progresses at a snails pace and to have so few questions answered about the rift or what’s beyond just doesn’t make sense. At this point I want to finish the series but god, Ruby, make it a little easier on us!

Great!
I liked the new spin. I hope more book come out in this series.
One of the reason I love this series is the variety in women and second how the dragons make logical leaps ie fallacies...keeps me laughing and entertained.
