About this listen
The Outworld Ranger crew has dodged government forces, criminal guilds, and bounty hunters numerous times since fleeing Ekaran IV.
But with the warships of the Dark Messiah closing in on them, their mission has never been in greater jeopardy. Cornered, their options and allies are few. And the Outworld Ranger suffered extensive damage getting them this far.
To make matters worse, an unexpected tragedy has plunged Oona, the young hyperphasic messiah, into her Trial of Corruption. With ancient evils threatening to rise once again, humanity is in dire need. If the crew can’t reach the mysterious genetics facility that disappeared when the Benevolence fell, then Oona won’t be the only one in danger of losing themselves to darkness.

The story is excellent and Peter Kenny's narration really brings the characters and story to life. Absolutely top notch entertainment.

Like a mix of Star Wars and Iain M Banks Culture
I have to assume Alastair Hayden is a big Iain Banks fan. Though their styles aren't the same there are clear homages to banks and his Culture novels in these books. Nothing will ever replace Iain but these books have helped fill a void.

Great Sci-fi Epic Series
I massively enjoyed this series, I'm gutted this is the last one at the moment but look forward to more. It feels a bit like Star Wars crossed with Indiana Jones (epic combo!)

Easy to listen to.
Fight scenes a bit too long sometimes but overall a good read/listen. I also like the narrator - thoroughly enjoyed his presentation of Banks’ works.

A fantastic series beautifully narrated.
I really enjoyed this whole series. I'm a big fan of Peter Kenny so thought I would give this series a try as I've loved his work with other authors. Well, what a treat! A fantastic series that left me eager to get started on the next instalment. I am hoping there will be another after Fallen Souls as I'm not ready for it to end! This series and its characters are brought to life by the fantastic narration by Peter Kenny. It is obvious by his amazing enthusiasm for the books and its characters that you can tell he just loves what he does. His use of accents makes following individual characters so easy and you can't help but become attached to them as you follow them on their journey. And who couldn't love the cheeky and charismatic Silky. I highly recommend this whole series, especially to those that love a good space opera.
