Summary
Kara Wright is a former Royal Air Force Intelligence Analyst. Her best mate, Tien Tran, is a veteran of the British Army's Intelligence Corps. Both served in Afghanistan and both were lucky to make it home. Now, based in a run-down office in Kentish Town, they try to keep their heads above water as private investigators. When two grown-up children claim their elderly parents have been kidnapped, Kara and Tien are sceptical, but they need the money, and anyway, Kara could really do with keeping her mind off the man she murdered.
The gripping first book in the Wright & Tran crime thriller series. If you like electrifying action, breathless pacing, and three-dimensional characters, then you'll love Ian Andrew's award-winning special ops detective novel.

Brilliant!
I absolutely loved this book! I bought it based on the synopsis, but also because it was the first in a series. I couldn’t wait to buy the next book, but discovered it isn’t on Audible!!! I have no idea why, but am bitterly disappointed. Anyhoo, back to the book. An excellent story, in which I became completely immersed. Interesting characters throughout and I really enjoyed listening to the protagonists at work; their planning, methods, etc. Without giving anything away, the main characters’ backgrounds provided a different take on this genre, which I really enjoyed.
The narrator, Gemma Whelan, was incredible! Her accents were just wonderful and seemed to come to her so naturally, her talents actually made me smile! As a Geordie, not a stone’s throw from Wallsend (it’s in the story), I happily give her a massive 8/10. I hope listeners from Northern Ireland, Wales, Somerset, etc, were just as happy, as these accents sounded fab to me. There’s little worse in audiobooks than embarrassing, often excruciating, attempts at accents, but for me, Gemma Whelan was a tour de force. I really hope she continues to narrate these books, as I can’t imagine anyone else doing anywhere near as good a job. She made every character believable and I can’t praise her enough. Please let’s get this series on Audible asap🙏🏼.

Narrator
Great narrator who can actually do the accents .. (What do you mean 15 word minimum? .. Why is there a 15 word minimum? - what more do you want from me for god's sake??)
