About this listen

The fourth and final part of the Murderbot Diaries series that began with All Systems Red.

Murderbot wasn't programmed to care. So its decision to help the only human who ever showed it respect must be a system glitch, right?

Having traveled the width of the galaxy to unearth details of its own murderous transgressions, as well as those of the GrayCris Corporation, Murderbot is heading home to help Dr. Mensah - its former owner (protector? friend?) - submit evidence that could prevent GrayCris from destroying more colonists in its never-ending quest for profit.

But who's going to believe a SecUnit gone rogue? And what will become of it when it's caught?

I have only one gripe with this series: they are short!

The story - the intrigue, the mystery, the characters , the main character`s development, the pacing, the action ... all excellent.

Any metaphysical and philosophical musings and insights into the "human condition" are the icing on the top of a very tasty cake. Well, perhaps muffin is the better comparison since, as I say, these stories are a bit on the small side. But so packed with goodness that I do not begrudge the cost. Excellent entertainment value, though it leaves me wanting more at the end of every instalment.

Excellence!

Short and interesting, a good listen, and a good progression of the story and main character. Approved.

Apart from the first book, I've never been left with the desire to immediately start the next Murderbot book.

This is well written and a very good stepping off point if you want to end the saga. Any praise in my review has been tempered by the fact that this is a novella, but charged at full price. I waited for a 2 for 1 sale before getting it.

I'll probably return and get the later "books" but I'm in no rush.

Narrator is decent, and has a good range of voices for the character. Story follows a similar path of discovery for the Sec Unit, with a few fights thrown in

Slight but enjoyable story

Just like the previous books, it's an excellent, fact paced, action packed page turner. Really enjoyed!

Four novellas in and I can honestly say I'm a fan. A committed fan.

If these stories were simply segments of space opera (like those Murderbot watches so avidly), I'd be much less interested. The fight sequences in this novella are great, but again, without Murderbot's internal monologue, they'd be so much wordage. That monologue is absolutely the making of this series. Those emotions which keep encroaching on a sec unit's functionality, the increasing attachment it feels for various humans, and just how much entertainment vids mean, all contribute to a persona we can identify with.

Now very much a fan

I had a complex emotional response. I enjoyed this so much, I laughed out and received a few odd looks because of it, too. Then wondered what Murderbot would think about that.

Great!

A lively and fun tale of discovery for Murder Bot. The first 4 books were on a free offer but to be honest I will be buying the remainder of the series. Couldn't put them down. The are awesome.

I am torn by these stories because although highly entertaining and enjoyable I feel the publishers should have released the Murderbot Diaries as one book and not dragged it out making it very expensive for what is basically a single novel, I had to use 4 Audible credits to purchase what is an average length audiobook, that being said the story itself was great and I hope the author writes more stories set in this universe

Good to the very end

The last in the series, great narration, plot is well paced. Story is enjoyable with likeable characters and the plot keeps you hooked. it's just too short!

original well written sci fi

My favourite murderbot continues his epic journey. Never let this world of wonder end.
