Summary
The secrets of the factory of nightmares are free for the taking...and Dungeon Lord Edward Wright intends to claim them.
War is coming to Starevos, delivered by the navy of the Kingdom of Heiliges. The only hope Edward and his friends have at surviving the wrath of the Light is an ancient Factory whose defenses are as deadly as those seeking to conquer it.
However, Ed is not the only Dungeon Lord who seeks the power of the factory. To save the Haunt, Ed must face war-forged Dungeon Lords older and crueler than he is, and everything he has learned shall be tested to its utter limit.
Even before the Endeavor starts, dark forces converge around the Haunt, threatening to drown Ed and his friends under a mass of corpses. If Ed is not careful, he may be forced to become as terrible as his enemies just to outlive them.
In fact, that may well be his only chance at victory.
Will Edward have what it takes to prove he is the meanest Dungeon Lord around, or will he become a footnote in the annals of history?
There's only one way to find out.

This series is a true masterpiece
I've listened to all 4 of these audio books and I have to say this series is top 3 I ever listened to. Period. And I actually do not like "gamification / LitRPG" concept in fantasy. That says a lot. The performance of the Soundbooth Theater is WOW, just... WOW. They really brought the book to life, I loved all the voices and effects. It may sound cheesy but in my opinion it's not just an audiobook it's an experience.
What I really did love about the book was that everything made sense. All actions had long-lasting reactions in the world. Character building was exquisite. It was amazing that even in book 4 so much from ALL previous books made perfect sense as if the author had everything figured out 4 books in advance. The mind brood idea was genius and how it fit in the world history and the impact of it. The main villain of book 4 was just soooo awesome. It was easy to almost agree with the main villain and think "maybe he is actually right !?" and that's what I call good writing. No soulless "haha I'm evil I want to destroy everything" but deep, meaningful stuff with seemingly real history, their own philosophy etc. Edward's crew and inquisition also had their share of great personalities.
Hugo, please do not even think of writing any spin-off books and concentrate on completing this story :) If Soundbooth team will narrate this this could end up being my favorite series ever. Big round of applause. *CLAP CLAP CLAP*

I can’t get enough of this series, started reading the books and moved onto the audible once I got into it, the story is great, the narrator has a clear voice and tells the story well, with a good range of voices and most importantly interprets the story line so you get pulled in.

Was ok
I found it hard to enjoy it as much as I did the first few books it feels like a something different it wasn't fun or sharing moments with eds friends feel like they didn't excist even tho they played a large part in the last book was nothing on the development of the dungeon and all the wacky things that goes on there. I'll be honest I had to listen to the last half of the book about 8 times just to finish it as I kept falling asleep it was that interesting and I normaly listen to lit rpgs while laying In bed and could be awake all night but not with this one. I hope the next book goes back to the first few books as there is already plenty other boring lit rpgs that take them self to seriously we really don't need another.

I don't normally..
I don't normally leave reviews for books I don't have to unless they are exceptionally good. This happens to be one of, if not the best book in the series. This book is 20 hrs, how could it possibly not drag on? Just the opposite in fact, by the end, I did a double take when I realized I'd already finished it. All around, this series hasn't lost any of its luster 4 or is it 5 books in? The afterward will have you dying with both laughter and giddiness! I absolutely can NOT wait until the next book comes out! Hats off to Jeff and Company at Soundbooth studios as well as Mr. Huesca. Keep up he great work, your fans appreciate it more than you know!

Epic.
I am impressed.
This series was one of the first I ever picked up. From the beginning, the writing was top notch. I had issues with a few of the voices but have since gotten used to them. Each character (the ones that matter) is easily distinguishable and most of Soundbooths monster noises and sound effects worked really well.
This fourth book is an amazing addition to the series where we reunite with our favorite antagonist, the Lights strongest inquisitor, and a petty demi-God. All of the Dungeon Lords, The Haunts Minions, The Lights Servants, and an even more insidious characters clash in an epic battle. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
You cannot miss this book. The ending had the perfect twist that has me even more pumped for the next book. I cant help but look forward to what happens next. I give this book a solid 9.5/10

This is so good that it makes you mad when you finish it. I genuinely did not see the plot twist coming. Highly recommended but if you are the type of person that hates waiting for the next book then you might want to wait before listening because the ending will have you yelling for more,

A good book,
Its a very good book, however, I gotta wonder if either Jeff Hays is incompetent or just a troll.
He does very good voices, but ever since he started using sound effects and background noises, its like he forgets
to give it a proper listen before saying "Right, thats good. Off with you".
The very start of the book with the mine carts and the background noises, it gave me a splitting headache
to the point where I wanted to skip the chapter or just stop listening all together.
Sure, later on, its no longer a problem, however it seems like its like this with ALL books Jeff Hays
does, hell. I remember listening to another book where the background noises drowned out the damn
narration, but, just like in this book, its only the very start that has the issue with loud/grating background
noises, which is why I am unsure if Jeff Hays is a troll or just doesnt care to quality check the book..

Disappointed
I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books. As a fairly avid listener who churns through numerous novels each month, I was pleasantly surprised by Huesca's Dungeon Lord series ... until this book. The character development, relationship building and "fun" that earned by admiration early on in the series are conspicuously absent in Ancient Traditions. On the other hand, the logic inconsistencies were amplified. For example, objectivity is supposed to keep the magic of Ivalis in-check so the world evolves with clearly defined magical laws. And yet, objectivity allows heroes from another world to be magically transported to Ivalis on an ongoing basis and devastate the balance of power. Then, it allows mind broods to develop, steal the magic of its victims and jeopardize the entire world. There there's Gallio, the main character on the side of the light. He continually ignores the hypocrisy and evil within his on order, yet steadfastly focuses on the Dungeon Lord, who has consistently displayed his desire to "fight the good fight". The continued conflict between the two is too contrived. Time to look for another series.

This has been a wonderful series! From the beginning of book one to the end of this book, I’ve loved every minute. Soundbooth theater is wonderful, as always, and I don’t get the gripes about the sound effects, I think they add character to the narration, and really allow for immersion.
Edward is a fantastic character, both fallible and extremely likable, and I think a lot of people can identify with him. And I even felt sympathy for Ryan in this book, when the previous novels seemed to be building him up as a rival to Ed, but Huesca turned the tables on that assumption. Frankly, almost every character is well written, and doesn’t always behave how you’d expect, which I find refreshing.
All in all, I’m eagerly awaiting Book 5, though rumor has it on Reddit that Huesca has been quiet for the past few months. Understandable, with the current state of affairs, but I sincerely hope that he’s well, and will be able to publish the fifth novel soon. Everything in the story is building up to an epic conclusion someday, and I truly hope to find out what happens to Ed and the Haunt. This story has drawn me in so much, my YouTube watching habit has fallen by the wayside! Besides, I need something gripping to spend credits on, and until ELLC finally gets its book 5 narrated, I’ll have to hunt for another tale!

Fantastic continuation of the series!!!
Great story and narration!
Lord Edward Wright is back, and fighting desperately to fight off the forces of the Light! Additionally he has to prepare for the competition to capture the Factory - his only long term answer to the Light's forces trying wipe him and his people out. On top of all of this, he must continue to fend off the other Dungeon Lords as well as a mysterious new foe!
Soundbooth Theater not only narrates, but brings the story and characters to life!
If you enjoyed the rest of the series you wont be disappointed!
I cant wait to find out what happens next!
