If life is but a dream, to what do we awake?

The central premise of this book is the admittedly ridiculous but incontrovertibly true assertion that the universe does not exist.

This is something you can understand conceptually, like watching a documentary about Antarctica, or experientially, like moving to Antarctica.

There's also a related phenomenon where you fall asleep watching the documentary and wake up in the frozen wasteland.

That's gotta be weird, but the truth is that you're asleep in the wasteland dreaming that you're not, so that's where waking up gets you.

Oh boy what a fantastic book. Jeds writing is so accessible and cuts through so much bullshit and at 67 I’m wishing I had picked up his writings earlier in my life story. I have to admit that I have over the years bought into so much of the BS and the relief and at the same time consternation are palpable. This book will clearly not be to everyone’s taste but if you’re checking it out dig in deep and stay with it. He deals with a huge yet simple Truth that we all must see and hear at some point and delivers it with humour. He walks his talk. The real deal . Go on do yourself a favour and read his writings.

Initially proposed as a what could be considered a spiritual exploration of perceptions, a ticnering of which can provide a new perspective on life and reality, at chapter 12, this audiobook becomes a very vacuous cheerleader for standard, corny by-rote every-day conspiracy theories.

The initial chapters have just enough to drag the listener along. It leans heavily on quotes from other people to seem authoritative, and reads at far too great a length from Lewis Carrol's tales. These readings are, awkwardly, the most interesting parts of the audiobook, and they of course come from someone elses' work of fiction, so serve to do little to illustrate or prove any statements being made by the author.

when we get to the argument against the moonlandings happening because the author theories that HE wouldn't have authorised them, we're he The President, the book collapses into 'Fog, hiding more fog'.

a very disappointing and unenlightening collection of ramblings.
