Summary

I don’t belong here, surrounded by psychopaths and killers with no remorse…At least, I don’t think I do.
Getting by unscathed is my top priority. Unfortunately for me and my fellow prisoners, those in charge are more dangerous than we are. You see, the guards run the show, and I seem to have caught the attention of the most twisted one. He has a name, but it might as well be Officer. We move around one another like a sun and a moon, revolving in an axis of confused lust and torment until the truth is distorted, and the thing I once feared becomes that which I crave; my vile addiction, somehow so exquisite. Reality warps in the dungeon, and I’m left wondering which prison is worse…the one holding my body, or my mind.
**Distorted is the first audiobook in the Alabaster Penitentiary series. It is a full M/M romance, with HEA. Each audiobook in this series is technically a standalone, though they are interconnected, so it will be recommended to listen to them in order, as references to this story will be made in future stories. Distorted is intended for mature audiences and open-minded listeners only! If you prefer the same old story, this audiobook won’t be for you.

Whoa
It's been so long since I have read and enjoyed such an utter amazingness that I am totally consumed by it! The way the author has written this book is marvellous. I am not going to mention anything about the storyline because spoilers are a no-go, especially with this book, but I can warn you that this book is one ef of a ride. Check your triggers though. Be safe.

I need more ASAP!
I absolutely loved every second of this! And I need more from this author and production team like yesterday! It was dark, steamy, and oh so interesting. The narration could not have been better. Perfect fit for an awesome story. This author is now on my list! Get this!

Incredible Audio
I absolutely love this book as I read it last year and the story is just incredible with so many twists and turns. So when I saw it was coming to audio I knew I had to listen 🖤
WOW. That pretty much sums up the audio version on this book. The narrators are fantastic and truely bring the story to life. I didn’t think I could love this book anymore but after listening to it I love it so much more 🖤
This story is full of so many issues that the main characters are dealing with and I felt them all through the narration. I was taken into the story and felt like I was apart of what was going on. This has got to be 1 my best audio listens ever.

Who knew I needed a Russian bank robber in my life?
Dash and Kemper are all kinds of toxic but oh so hot! Hold on for a rollercoaster of a ride with a twist you won’t see coming. All kinds of dirty - steam and roaches!

Just as amazing in audio
This book is such a total mindf…! I read the book and thought - how did I miss this - but it still blows my mind. Holy moly I love Dash and Kemper’s story. The narration was sublime!!

Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 Twisted & Intense!
This book not only took me by surprise but it completely blew me away, it is my first book written by Nyla K and consider me impressed, not only with her writing style but with her brilliant mind and ability to create such a complex, thought-provoking story with equally complex characters. She noted not to read or post spoilers and I have to agree, it is best to go in blind and enjoy the wild ride because it is the best and it is worth it in the end. The world building and character growth and development is phenomenal and so is the originality of the story, it is unlike anything I have read or listened to. It was great to get to know this motley crew of characters, with the two lead characters, Dash and Kemper, as my favorites, though several of the secondary characters are just as intriguing and I hope their stories come to audio too and soon. This book is no ordinary story, it is an experience, grabbing my attention and holding it hostage the entire time, while nothing else around me mattered except what was going to happen next in the book. It is an intense and cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, action, twists and turns, thrilling moments, heartfelt moments, steamy kink and romance. Nyla K, thank you for this amazing story and the mind-blowing and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, this audiobook was close to eighteen hours long, the fastest eighteen hours since they just flew by, partly because the story was absolutely brilliant but so were the performances from Michael Gallagher and Bryant Walker, who were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters would sound. They set the perfect tone of the story and captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this exceptional listen.
