"You will be called Anippe, daughter of the Nile. Do you like it?" Without waiting for a reply, she pulls me into her squishy, round tummy for a hug. I’m trying not to cry. Pharaoh's daughters don't cry. When we make our way down the tiled hall, I try to stop at ummi Kiya's chamber. I know her spirit has flown, yet I long for one more moment. Amenia pushes me past so I keep walking and don't look back. Like the waters of the Nile, I will flow.

Lazarus occupies a surprising position in the Gospel accounts. Widely known as the man Jesus raised from the dead, his story is actually much broader and richer than that. Living as he did at Bethany, near Jerusalem, Lazarus was uniquely placed to witness the swirl of events around Jesus. When Jesus Wept, the first novel in The Jerusalem Chronicles series by best-selling authors Bodie and Brock Thoene, unfolds the turbulent times in Judea during Jesus' ministry, centering on the friendship between Jesus and Lazarus.

Summary
A Complex and Compelling Glimpse at One of the Bible's Baddest Girls
Life is not easy in Philistia, especially not for a woman and child alone. When beautiful, wounded Delilah finds herself begging for food to survive, she resolves that she will find a way to defeat all the men who have taken advantage of her. She will overcome the roadblocks life has set before her, and she will find riches and victory for herself.
When she meets a legendary man called Samson, she senses that in him lies the means for her victory. By winning, seducing, and betraying the hero of the Hebrews, she will attain a position of national prominence. After all, she is beautiful, she is charming, and she is smart. No man, not even a supernaturally gifted strongman, can best her in a war of wits.

another good book
Very well written and I enjoyed the narration. Still would have been worth at least 10 stars if the narration was a true dual narration. Women can not do men voices and vice versa. But they still brought this story to life. Well worth a buy or a credit. You will be missing out if you do not get this one..

This is a work of fiction based on the Bible account of Samson and Delilah. The story line was ok as stories go, I had issues with the readers. Samson did not match my minds eye of Samson.

New Ensight
I’ve read the story of Samson and Delilah countless times and have never thought of the fact that there may have been forces coercing Delilah to make the choices she made. I love how God can use our weaknesses for God’s on purpose. While will never know for sure what the heart of Delilah was, she is definitely demonize usually, and this is an interesting take on the story and I enjoyed it immensely.

Not really worth your time
Author works too hard to stretch the story into one that justifies Delilah's actions. Narration is so-so.
