Summary

Sometimes your mouth makes deals that your heart can’t honour.

Jude is a highly successful model, but a very reluctant one. His life is full of casual hook-ups with pretty men in glamorous locations, but it’s still empty. However, circumstances decreed a long time ago that this was his path, so he’s resolutely stayed on it and accepted his fate with good grace. He made a deal with himself and his hook-ups. Get in, get out, and no ties with anyone.

However, an accident at home one night leads to him making a new deal and accepting the offer of help from an unlikely source. It leads to an unexpected summer of falling in love with a larger-than-life man and his child. But by the end of the summer his reasons for not staying are still valid. Will he turn away? Can he?

Asa is a talented actor who has spent time away from the scene to look after his son. But now he’s back, and the last thing he needs are complications from the gorgeous man who is staying with him. Scarred from too many betrayals, he has no intention of forming a lasting tie with anyone. However, he can’t resist the beautiful man with secrets, and to his horror he develops feelings.

But a deal’s a deal and they said it was just for the summer. What can Asa do with a man who has forever in his eyes and goodbye on his lips?

From the Amazon best-selling author of Rule Breaker comes another scorchingly hot romantic comedy.

This is the second book in the Mixed Messages series but it can be read as a stand-alone.

As good as Risk Taker!

I only discovered Ms Morton after reading/listening to Rule Breaker and became an immediate fan. I could not wait to get my hands on this one. Loved it so much.

I had no idea how Ms Morton was going to better the previous book, which is one of my picks for best book of 2017, but she did. She totally knocked it out of the ball park, or scored a six, as they say in my part of the world.

This book was beautifully written, Asa and Jude were both wonderfully empathetic. I absolutely fell in love with them. It has the right amount of banter, British humour and sarcasm, insanely hot sex, and two men who, for different reasons, avoided relationships. It translated beautifully onto audio and is truly not to be missed.

Lily wrote the characters perfectly, their scenes together were funny, tender and, at times, as the book progressed, just sad. There's a scene near the end of the book, that very nearly had me sniffling 😩 On the other hand, the scenes between them in the first part of the book were really funny. And Billy!!! What a great rendition of a five year old. He reminded me of my kid when he was small, and had me laughing out loud at times. What a little love.

The humour in this story was different to that in Rule Breaker, but it didn't make the story any less enjoyable. The character and relationship development were very well done, I loved the family feel of this one. Asa, Jude and Billy together just worked, their scenes together were so awwww worthy and heart warming.

There isn't a great deal of angst in this, a slight misunderstanding near the end, but in no way did it feel manufactured. I did raise my eyebrows a little after I read it re the scene with Jude's ex, but the book was so great, I didn't think of it while I was reading, and it remains a teeny weeny niggle.

Already anticipating the next audio, come on Henry 😊

Hilarious

A sequel that's better than book one.
Jude gets his own forever after here, and plays the role of stupid bimbo model with hilarious results. Medium angst level, very steamy sex scenes, and fantastic narration.

disappointing

I turned this off after about 45 minutes. I thought the set up on how they met was stupid. what block of flats has a bathroom above someone's bedroom they are generally all in the same location. also he didn't want to stay with his friends,,who were more than willing to take him in, but decided go to the home of his boyfriend's step brother who he has never met. he then going to stay with the guy in exchange for being his pa. I know these books can be far fetched and you generally after switch your brain off when reading them bet my brain couldn't get on board with this one. I definitely wouldn't recommend it

Another great audio version of one Lily's books!

I adore this book, I've read it multiple times now and loved the audio version. Great voice acting! Asa and Jude are probably my favourite of Lily's couples, although it's so hard to choose!,

I love how Jude got his own back on Asa for stereotyping him, with Peggy totally in on the joke. great support characters in Peggy, Amos & Rachel, plus Dylan, Gabe and Henry! Billy is just brilliant, saw me giggling away to myself while grocery shopping. Highly recommend!

Butterflies and smiles

The author and narrator captured the essence of the character well!

Both ASA and Billy are great addition to the series. Gabe and Dylan make a small return in this series and the author (and narrator) did not forget the nature of the character even though there were not the main character for this book.

Jude and ASA flourishing love story is a great example of character development in the book. Big credit to Lily and Joel for doing such a great job of bringing the character to life.

Cant wait to listen to Henry’s story now. 10/10 highly recommended. Love the pettiness and the wittiness of the emails, they are hilarious!

My favourite of all the author's work.

A very entertaining book, and well read. I first read the book before the audio was available. My own imagination made better use of the words without the audio.

So Beautiful 😍

I loved this story - definitely the best by far!

The little boy Billy is absolutely adorable and can’t help but tear at the heartstrings 🥰

Lily Morton books, narrated by Joel Leslie have me in stitches of laughter one minute, and blubbering like a child the next.
This is the most heartfelt story I’ve heard so far from this collection but my favourite - just a beautiful story 😊

5🌟’s a definite!
