Summary

Great story if you can ignore the poor production
An engrossing story with well constructed characters. Twists and turns keep the interest. Sadly, although the narrator is brilliant, the lack of pauses between sections within the chapters makes it hard to follow changes in settings.

Loved the whole series
And I’m sure this isn’t all yet. I had the culprit pegged early on but didn’t even believe myself and got tossed from one hunch to the next to end up confused and very happy about the rollercoaster and the ending. The stories so far have been very different and very unusual but still carried a thread so best to be read in order. Only downside try to use some downtime or you end up very sleep deprived and behind with your work. Usually some audios are fine but these stories don’t have much idle thinking or breathing time so clues and changes are easily missed. I think the missing pauses between changes of scenery or location or actor were deliberate and added to the experience of the books but it can be very distracting. But it is possible to get used to it just don’t get disheartened if you need to rewind or retrace the thread of the story developing. It makes the experience quite intense. I’m looking forward to more mind crunching business and can only encourage listeners to keep going with the flow.

A slow burn
It took a while to get into the story. The narrator didn’t pause between chapters, so it was difficult to keep track sometimes. I think it is more for the US market.

Twice I tried and twice I gave up.
I just could not stay engaged. I’m not going to discredit the book or performance because maybe it’s just not my thing. I really didn’t like this listen.

Entertaining
Another well narrated trip around the block in this series. Similar themes, similar MCs, similar outcome. Well written, with depth and breadth. Worth the trip. ENJOYABLE
