Summary

The only thing headier than wine is lust.

Ryan Royer thought his business trip to California's Napa Valley would be easy. Land a new client. Taste wine. But when the client is a free-spirited bombshell who presses all of his buttons, Ryan's world goes sideways.

Kenzie Balfour is entirely irresistible. She's the fourth generation to run the von Eck Estate Winery, and she's more intoxicating than any award-winning cabernet.

Ryan has been working hard for a promotion at one of the world's top investment banks. If he can close this deal for her legendary winery, he gets the job. He can't let a gorgeous woman with a great laugh get in the way of his goals. Even if she leaves him love drunk.

From a trouser-tightening almost-kiss at a restaurant to a seductive walk through a vineyard at sunset, can Ryan keep his crush on his client under control, or will a taste of Kenzie be his downfall?

Escape to California's wine country in Crush.

Ryan and Kenzie

I did enjoy this book. It was a love/lust at first sight and I’m not totally sure that is my thing, it felt a little odd to me. I did like the characters and the story line. Kenzie was Ryan’s client so they should not be trying to make a relationship with each other and the fact that he is 30 and she is 22 is a little hard on him. The narration was fabulous. I recommend this book.

Wine & Romance

Crush is a surprisingly well-composed contemporary romance. Wine, passion, and Mae Wood's descriptive world will captivate you from the start to end. The storyline and the characters are utterly engaging, and the emotions are deep and real. Kenzie and Ryan's connection is instant, like a magnet, they were pulled toward each other. Kenzie is more confident than Ryan about pursuing the possibility of love and a relationship. There was some angst, it was kept to the minimum and nowhere near the point of frustration. Overall, I very much enjoyed this story.

As for the narration, Zachary Webber and Savannah Peachwood's performances were brilliant. They're both true voice actors, bringing the characters and the entire story to life.

Raise your glass!

Raise your glass to this low angst, high romance novel! Mae Wood pulls us into the world of wine making with Kenzie Balfour. She is destined to take over her family winery. When she meets Ryan Royer on a business trip their lives are about to change. Their is instant attraction, but can it be acted on? Ryan is older than her by 8 years and she is his client so their relationship has to remain quiet. But will it? Can they keep their love a secret? Wood polishes this story with amazing characters, sizzling scenes and a relationship you just keep rooting for! Ryan and Kenzie are so easy to relate to, with their ambition and their need for each other, I was completely captivated by them. It's a wonderfully written, easy listen and I can't wait for more by Mae Wood.

The easy chemistry between narrators Zachary Webber and Savannah Peachwood make this listen that much better! They fall into character and let us be with Ryan and Kenzie as their relationship moves. Each has that style of letting us feel and be in the story. I loved it!

So sweet

A wonderfully sweet, angst free read, a little bit forbidden love, maybe. Ryan Royer and Kenzie Balfour definitely keep their affair a secret. Is it because she’s 8 years his junior? Is it because she’s his client? Is it because her mum wouldn’t like it? Or is it because Ryan could lose his credibility? Maybe one, maybe all those reasons. It all starts getting a little too much to hide, and throughout the story both Ryan and Kenzie question their ability to continue their relationship. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and I was routing for their happy ever after throughout. Wonderful narration from Zachery Webber and Savannah Peachwood.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧Sweet Romance~Ryan💘Kenzie

This sweet romance is well written and well told with interesting storylines that were captivating from start to end. I enjoyed Mae Wood’s writing style, she is descriptive and brings you right into the story as if you were right along side the characters. The characters are nicely developed, they are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored both leads, Kenzie Balfour is set to help run her family’s winery, her favorite place to be is in the Vineyards, getting the perfect growing conditions for the perfect grapes. Her family wants her to learn the ropes on the business end. Ryan Royer, gets to work on the deal that will earn his promotion in the top investment bank. He needs to land the deal but lands something else instead, a crush on the client, Kenzie. I loved the chemistry between the two, they were great together and for each other. The only downfall is Ryan’s issues with their age gap and a relationship may cost him the promotion he wanted. I loved how well plotted this book is and how everything plays out, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some heartfelt moments, some sweet ones and the beginning of a great romance. Mae Wood, thank you for the wonderful story.

Zachary Webber and Savannah Peachwood are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They are amazing at portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they project the character’s emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Loved this love at first sight story

This was such a sweet story about insta love. Kenzie is a daughter of a family of vintners who meets with a banker, Ryan, when he's part of a team to try to help her and her family buy new land for their vineyard. This story revolves around love at first sight and there's cute banter between the main characters. I also loved how the author described the anticipation between the characters so well and she did such a great job really portraying the beauty of wine country. There were a few obstacles to the HEA, also done well so that I really didn't want to put the book down.

I borrowed the book from KU but also had the opportunity to request and receive the audiobook. Savannah Peachwood and Zachary Webber were amazing, but that's expected. I loved the way they played the main characters but also seamlessly transitioned to the multiple other supporting characters of the book. The narration is so well done that the story was elevated even more through the reading.
