Summary

From the award-winning author of Claw comes a new horror novelette for you to enjoy, set back in a time when the west was wild, a man was still a man, and Lawless, BC was just plain lawless!

In this tale, you will meet Mr. Caleb Cantrill, a gentleman who has found something very interesting in the ground, and though he doesn't know it yet, he is about to have a very, very bad day.

Set in the wilds of the Cascade mountains of Western Canada in 1895, this introductory tale from Claw: Emergence is the first in a series which will form a rich tapestry of discovery, betrayal, and insatiable hunger, all delivered with small-town Canadian flair.

If you enjoy this story, please make sure to check out Claw for more present-day thrills and chills also set in the rugged interior of Western Canada.

Yawn!

This story began with an interesting plot...that went nowhere. I "REALLY" enjoyed Claw: A Canadian Thriller, which made me want to read this one, I did however enjoy the narration!

A must read! A great novella to the Claw series!

Loved this Novella to the Claw series! Genius and very creative writing on giving prequel insight to decades before the Claw series. It left me with so much inquisitiveness about what will happen after the Novellas between then and the beginning of Claw. I very much liked the characters, their introduction and backgrounds; not too much, but just enough to feel relatable and empathetic to. The Caleb Cantrell Novella crossover into Kitty Welch was genius! Etremely well written, great story line, characters, plot, etc. Absolutely couldn't put them down! I loved them. I definitely reccomend reading the two Claw Emergence Novellas: Caleb Cantrell first, then Kitty Welch, before the Claw series. It gives an intriguing, anticipating introduction and insight for the Claw and Claw Emergence

If you haven't read Claw Emergence: Caleb Cantrell, Claw Emergence: Kitty Welch, and Claw: A Canadian Thriller; I highly recommend you do. They are fantastic!

Also, waiting with excitement and anticipation for Claw series book 2, Claw Emergence!

In my opinion, the Claw Emergence Novellas and the Claw series would make and awesome and fantastic Netflix Series!! Here's hoping Netflix does!

Fun novelette

The writing was really good in this book. It is set up concisely and moves right into the plot in a very natural way. The characters are interesting and it holds the beginnings of an interesting world. Great narration. It definitely helped me enjoy the book even more.

One of my favorite authors

The book is a quick little continuation of “The Claw”. Throughout the audible book I was biting my nails with anticipation. I love how quick paced and action packed the book was! I definitely recommend reading it! Only complaint is I wish it was longer lol!

This was slower than I would like

This story was slower than the ones I like to read. It took a lot of time to build to the climax.

Very entertaining and a fun bit of horror

I have gotten into historical fiction and much of that is Western. This was a very interesting plot, so where is the rest of it?

Destiny in the Dark Deep Cavern

Caleb Cantrill greed leads him to a discovery of riches beyond his wildest dreams or his darkest nightmares. Katie Berry does a remarkable job telling an entire horrific tale in just a little over an hour. This book definitely makes me not to want to explore dark areas. The book is well written and with the phenomenal narration of Michael Reimer it puts it over the top. I highly recommend this short tale of dark horrors.
