"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)

Easy to learn
Very helpful but useful if you can use a written version of the text too to help with pronunciation. Repetition in each unit seems to help

great learning programme
great resource for learning and language. It gets you speaking quickly. very useful if you practice everyday. for fluency you'll also need to find a teacher but this gives you the basics.

Great intro into Chinese learning
A very easy way to start picking up Chinese. Follow along and speak with the narrator. They build up you sentences and vocabulary slowly at a pace you can keep up with. (Mostly)

So we'll put together!
At first I thought the order it taught things in was odd. But after a trip to China...the order is exactly the order you need! Very well researched and put together. A great piece of work.

Good but
I do like the approach Pimsleur use and have used their courses before, so this is as much a general comment as specifically about the Mandarin course. My BUT comes because the tutor drives me crazy with his condescending tone when constantly repeating Have you pronouned it tbe same way as the speaker? And because for the first few lessons it is so American centric - the learner and one partner of the dialogs is always an American man/woman who is meeting a person for the country where the language being taught is spoken

Poor value for money
Very basic and poor value for money. Paul Noble uses a similar technique and you get many more teaching hours for one credit.
