Summary
Charles Paris returns in this BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation of Simon Brett’s humorous theatrical mystery, starring Bill Nighy.
A job in pantomime seems the perfect way to spend the Christmas season for Charles, but the cast of Cinderella are a motley crew from reality TV and Charles finds himself having to explain the traditions of panto to their baffled American star whose career is on a downward trajectory.
When the star is shot dead, and Charles finds the body, he finds himself under suspicion. As the slapstick makes way for a murder investigation, he decides to clear his name by doing some sleuthing of his own. With a host of suspects and the body count rising, the line 'they're behind you' soon begins to take on a very sinister meaning indeed....
Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Skylight, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) stars as Charles Paris, with Suzanne Burden as his wife Frances, in this funny and fast-paced dramatisation by Jeremy Front.
Written by Jeremy Front, based on the novel by Simon Brett.

Brilliant
Loved it straight from the start thanks to the great Bill Nighy and cast. Would like it to have been longer but thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend.

Of course it was wonderful
Mr Nighy and the usual suspects. How could it be less than wonderful. Plus the song at the end. Christmas day you can listen to this as well as watch Wonderful World

Great
This book was funny and enjoyable. I can't say it wasn't easy to see what was going to happen but still absolutely great.

Good fun and entertaining
One of the better of Charles Paris Mysteries (and they are all pretty good!). Plot sometimes hard to follow with too many characters all sounding the same but this one was top rate in every way. Maurice is my favourite character but they are all good.

Excellent as always
I have listened to many of these audiobooks. Absolutely love them, they make me laugh even though I have listened to them all several times. This one has me stumped though as the granddaughter has changed names from Angela to Olive! Why?

A Nice Change
These Charles Paris stories are very amusing. They would have made great TV but I doubt they are PC enough with the drinking and unhealthy eating habits. They are a bit pricey 1 credit for 2 hours but it saves waiting for them to come on 4 Extra and make a change from heavier fare.
