Summary
Cassie Smith has been out of work for a while but she has an idea. Drawing on her love of Christmas, she begins charging for small things: wrapping presents; writing cards; tree-decorating. She's soon in huge demand and Cassie's business, Calling Mrs Christmas, is born.
Carter Randall wants to make Christmas special for his children, so he enlists Cassie's help, and his lavish requests start taking up all her time. Thank goodness she can rely on her loving partner Jim to handle the rest of her clients.
When millionaire Carter asks Cassie to join his family on a trip to Lapland, she knows she shouldn't go... Suddenly Cassie finds herself facing a heart-breaking choice that could change her entire life.
Join Cassie as she takes you on a romantic and emotional rollercoaster ride in Calling Mrs Christmas.

A perfect Christmas listen
Yes this is predictable, feel good, easy listening chick lit - but I loved it! I think I knew where the story was heading from the first few chapters but this did not spoil my enjoyment of it. Carole Matthews creates such likeable characters that it's easy to become involved in their lives and the story. Julia Franklin narrates this perfectly, her friendly, empathetic tone is perfect for family dramas. A perfect Christmas listen!

Carole conjures up Christmas
While I'm not the kind of guy that reads much 'chick lit' I could certainly appreciate the plotting of this unashamedly Christmassy read. My favourite sections were set at the Young Offenders unit and that sub-plot.
Julia Franklin does a great job at narration, although this somehow highlights the amount of repetition in the novel as the heroine umms and ahhhs, or even just re-caps her situation which I found unnecessary.

Really not good at all!!
I cringed continually whilst listening to this. Absolutely horrendously sexist throughout! The main female character portrayed to be painfully useless, with frequent gender stereotyping. Rather embarrassing!

Really Good Fluff
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it was light and Christmassy without being so simple and predictable it bored me. It had flawed characters, a few interesting subjects to muse on and a delightful little holiday plot.
What did you like best about this story?
That it wasn't a cut and dry simple a to b romance.
Have you listened to any of Julia Franklin’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Loved it
I absolutely loved this book. The characters are well developed and very likeable. I love Christmas stories at any time of the year but like most people especially when the season is here. This is an enjoyable read that had me hooked from the beginning. I would love to read more with these characters in especially if it expanded on this and what happened to them after.

Carol Matthews does it again!
A heartwarming tale read beautifully by Julia Fanklin. Carol again takes you into the lives of the characters as you follow them on their journey of life. Great escapism with a real feel good factor,
