Very entertaining fake engagement story, following CJ and Mel, both being weighted down by their past or past mistakes and their slow realisation that it is no longer fake. Enjoyed it very much, the interaction between them is funny, hot and steamy.
The narrator does an excellent job bringing all characters to life.

But it left me wanting more. When a couple resolves their issues, I like to have a happy wrap up of the story.

This book may trigger some individuals due to the issue of molestation but it could also helps others heal.

Quick book with HEA. Physical therapist and a football player need each other but for much different reasons. I liked this story and it’s characters. She was sexually abused as a child and is trying to overcome that. The narration was great. I recommend this book. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Melanie returns home to find herself locked out of her apartment by her now ex-boyfriend and not only is she homeless he won’t give her back her belongings. C.J. is a professional football player with an injured knee who is dealing with his own PR nightmare and Mel’s new client.

They decide that a fake engagement would help them both out as Melanie would have somewhere to live and CJ’s reputation would be improved by a sweet Iowa fiancée. As they spend time together, they become close however there are secrets in Melanie’s past that could destroy everything.

This is beginning of Melanie an CJ’s story and it ends with a happy for now. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and enjoyed the tone and inflection of the narrator’s voice.

I love this series so far. It touches on some hard subjects, but sadly these things do happen. They do destroy loved and it's good to have a happy ending. Love, the REAL kind is a longer for outcome for any abused person.
It's well spoken, the story is captivating, I would've liked to hear the abuser being punished but maybe that happens further along in the series. That's the only disappointing part

Really well written fake romance that has blossomed into something real between Melanie and CJ.

Wow I just wanted to wrap my arms around Mel for all she’s had to endure. My heart went out to her so many times in this first book of the series and I’m looking forward to hearing the next book in the series.

Both the author and narrator are new to me and I’m intrigued by the audiobook for its storyline and the narration is really good. I was given this audiobook at my request and this is my honest opinion.

Haven’t not heard the other books yet, this was self contained and could be listened to, on its own. But I’m going into the other books.
