Summary

Will a hot-blooded, seven-foot-tall, scaly green alien meet his match in a feisty woman from Earth?

After losing her husband, Sadie is afraid of getting her heart broken again. On a dare, she signs up for the Extraterrestrial Matchmaking Service, and she's paired with Bryk, a seven-foot-tall, scaled alien from a distant world. At their first touch, a gleaming symbol appears on her palm. Bryk tells her it's a matebond, and she's his destined mate. He makes her pulse sing, but does she dare take a chance with someone new?

When Bryk applies for the Selection, he's matched with Sadie. At their first meet-up, his matebond ignites and now he'll do anything he can to win her heart. But Sadie has been hurt in the past and is afraid to trust. Refusing to admit defeat, Bryk talks her into giving him seven days to convince her she wants to stay. Bryk will need to pull out every Crakairian trick he can think of to win her heart.

Can two very different souls find love with each other on a planet far from Earth?

Not Very Engaging

I love Ava Ross' writing... and I loved the novel 'Vork'. However, I wasn't as captivated with 'Bryk'. While it was romantic, had some funny and adorable dialogue, the plot was somewhat boring. Unlike Vork, the story wasn't as engaging. I found the end a litte corny as well.

The fact that all the alien matches seem to have partners connected to the leading characters in the previous books is a little tiresome. The population of humans on earth and aliens on Crakaire must be just a handful or the coincidences are remarkable... probably alien as well.

Furthermore, despite the excellent narration done by Tawnia Murray and Teddy Hamilton, the characters all come across as the same. Bryk could literally have been Vork and Sadie was basically Evie. I would like to have seen more diversity in the characters and creativity with the story.

Still a good read, though.

short but sweet

It's a good story but each is short enough I wish they were a bundle deal.

I really enjoy these books

Nice balance of adventure, love, humor and steamy scenes. This series is worth a listen if you enjoy alien romance

Nope

I liked the premise. 7 days to convince his alien Tinder match to agree to stay with him. But then it was just about the f-ing. His word, not mine. Repeatedly. Yes, he repeatedly said to the heroine that he wanted "a lot of fu@#ing."

And she was all for it. So romantic. 🙄

The best part of the ENTIRE BOOK was the son. He was so determined to get his Dad a mate. I loved him. But that was all I loved.

Side note. Clearly the author watched The Middle. Bryk, Axel, Weld. I see what you did there.

And the narration. {Runs hand across face.} The male narrator, aside from sounding like Rod Serling, was great. The female? While she wasn't monotone, she gave no different inflection or tone when something important was happening. In fact, when our heroine was being attacked by deadly birds, I was listening while folding laundry, and really thought it was supposed to be a funny scene. Ha! Birds are flying in her face. But, oh, no, this was an action part of the book. She really needed to infuse some emotion in her performance, not just read us a bedtime story.

The dialogue makes me laugh

I don’t usually like when books are in third person but maybe with because of the narrators, it’s actually pretty funny. I’m a bit obsessed with alien/human romance so I’d recommend this series so far. Onto book 3!

It was ok

Good concept ... It was a cute story, but it was very slow moving.. The male narrator was better than the female although I don'tcare too much for his voice either.. Sounds like a dork, nothing sexy about him.. She was so flat and brought no life to the characters... Her male voices were terrible. It was just bad acting all the way around with her.

I was able to give it a 3 because it was funny and although POORLY NARRATED, the author did develop them well and built the world beautifully... The action and sex scenes were lacking...also had to fast forward through some very long internal dialogue, and sex scenes.

Since I liked book one and thought this one was ok, I will try the next.. if it's like this one, I will go no further. Also, the female lead was so corny.. those lame ass jokes were cringe-worthy.

It was everything I hoped for and more

I loved it, I listened to the preview when I finished the first book and Bryk didn't disappoint. Both the MCs deserved their happy ending.

Mr Hamilton

The story overall is good and a welcome in this age of insanity. The voice performance by Mr Hamilton was awesome. The intonations were great. The female voice Performer needed more life and intonation. Onto the next in the series.

Bad azz human female

Totally worth it. Different from her friend Evie who is with Vork. Great action and open to the experience. Will like to the good park again. Bryk is a hoot. It both of them together and they are all but adrenaline junkies in their own right. To protect and to love.
Love the actors they are the go to in this series. Love them.

Funny - loved it!

I love the comedic dialogue ! The main characters trying to understand each other's language and culture. The male narrator has the " go with the flow " tone that matches the situation. Even the bad guys are funny!
