Story
Years ago, the day before Ellie moved from Georgia to California, she and her best friend, Nolan, sat beneath the Spanish moss of an ancient oak tree where they wrote letters to each other, and sealed them in a rusty old metal box. The plan was to return 11 years later and read them. But now, as that date arrives, much has changed. Ellie, bereft of the faith she grew up with, is a single mom living in a tired apartment trying to make ends meet. Sometimes she watches television to catch a glimpse of her old friend - Nolan, now an NBA star, whose terrible personal tragedies fueled his faith and athletic drive in equal measure.

Story
In our everyday lives, friends are the people whom we spend the most time with, go through struggles with at times, and who know us best. Each of Jesus' friends - Peter, John, Matthew, Judas, Mary Magdalene, and Lazarus - traveled with Jesus and were part of his daily ministry, and each has a compelling story to tell. There were some who would question or doubt him, and one would even betray him. Kingsbury brings these fascinating personalities to life in ways that will not only help bring you closer to the truths found in scripture, but also to Christ.

Summary
From number-one New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury comes the third novel in the unforgettable Angels Walking series about divine intervention and the trials and triumphs of life for a group of friends.
Despite needing a heart transplant and against the advice of her doctor, Mary Catherine moves to Uganda to work at a brand-new orphanage. Whatever time she has left, Mary Catherine wants to spend it helping children - especially since there will be no children of her own. The only problem is Major League Baseball player Marcus Dillinger, the man she never meant to fall in love with. Neither Marcus nor Mary Catherine's other friends - Tyler Ames and Sami Dawson - know just how serious her heart condition is.
Still, Marcus is sure in the depths of his soul that something isn't right. Ultimately, his correspondence with Mary Catherine leads him on a desperate life-or-death mission to rescue her and get her to a US hospital before time runs out. Meanwhile, Sami and Tyler struggle with issues of their own. In a season when Tyler plans to ask Sami to marry him, the very core of their relationship is in jeopardy.
The team of angels walking is busier than ever in this epic battle between life and death. Brush of Wings is a poignant tale of love, sacrifice, and the power of faith.

Another fantastic Kinsbury Novel.
What made the experience of listening to Brush of Wings the most enjoyable?
The way the two readers were so much in sink when reading this story especially when January was narrating Mary Kathryn's parts and then when she was reading Marcus letters to her Curby Hayborn would take over that particular part.
What other book might you compare Brush of Wings to, and why?
I can't think of any other book i would compare this to. This is a concept that until i'd read this series i'd never seen done by a writer before.
What does Kirby Heyborne and January LaVoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
They bring true emotion and give us different voices for each character bringing them to life.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Angels walk among us without us even knowing it.
Any additional comments?
An amazing story five out of five. I can't wait to see what Karen Kingsbury will bring us next.

Brush of Wings
This story has touched my very core. I have been taken back several times in my life throughout this series. I had a life threatening illness 19years a go, I was on 100% Oxygen . I was put on powerful antibiotics by IV , The Consultant said he would have to keep me on medication for the rest of my life. Through prayer and constant talking to God my Spiritual life has strengthened to the point were I hear God's voice in many situations. Through prayer asking God for a miracle for a sister in Christ as she had Cancer and given two weeks to live, I talked to God like never before, His answer came when I asked her son how she was, his answer surprised me when he gave me her new number and told me she was well and at home, I phoned her straight away after three rings she answered and straight away I could hear laughter in her voice, the cancer had gone. I've believed that those who trust in God and The Name of Jesus have Guardian Angels around them. Amen 💕

Storyline and MC's character dragged
Near the end of the previous book and for the first third to half of this book, Mary Catherine annoyed me to no end. I cannot figure out what her problem was with sharing her heart condition with those closest to her. She wasn't being selfless; she was actually being selfish. She certainly wasn't "real" as Marcus kept claiming. A "real" person woul share with her friends and family and let them help and support her. A "real " person would be authentic with her hopes and fears. A "real" person would have fought for life right from the beginning. She turned herself into an unnecessary martyr and did not endear herself to me (and a lot of other readers, too) at all. I was a bit aggravated with Marcus, too. He pined (a bit pathetically) over her way too long, and when all was said and done, not even a hint of trust issues to work through.
I continued to love Sami and Tyler and all the angels. And despite my difficulties with MC and Marcus, I did love the sweet twist with the baby. The narrators did an excellent job! I am always fascinated with how different voices are portrayed, and I believe this was excellently read. The nuances (like MC's southern accent) are important, and while I could nit pick about a few things, I still say that the overall narration was great.

Looking back on my life I see those angels at work. Kirby and January are the perfect readers for Karen Kingsbury. I am so sad this series has ended and pray Karen has more in the mind soon to paper.
