About this listen
The Lady's Plan...
When Lady Henrietta Sedley declares her 29th year her own, she has plans. Plans to inherit her father's business, to make her own fortune and to live her own life. But first, she has plans to experience a taste of the pleasure she'll forgo as a confirmed spinster. She does not, however, plan to find the most beautiful man she's ever seen tied up in her carriage and threatening to ruin The Year of Hattie before it's even begun.
The Bastard's Proposal...
After waking in a carriage at Hattie's feet, Whit - a king of Covent Garden known to all the world as Beast - can't help but wonder about the strange woman who frees him...especially when he discovers her plans for a night of pleasure on his turf. He is more than happy to offer Hattie all she desires...for a price.
An Unexpected Passion...
Soon, Hattie and Whit find themselves rivals in business and pleasure: she won't give up her plans; he won't give up his power...but neither of them see that if they're not careful, they'll have no choice but to give up everything...including their hearts.

Beast!!
Loved this story and have listened to it a couple times.
Hattie wants to ruin herself so she didn't have to worry about marriage and take over her fathers shipping business. Well that was the plan.
She books an appointment in a high class brothel for women to 'do' the job but when she gets in her carriage, she finds a man, a beautiful man, unconscious and bound up. She releases him and tosses him from her moving carriage but kisses him first.
He is 'Beast' one of the bareknuckle bastards and he needs to know who knocked him out, so he follows her.
Well that is the start of this love story.
Loved every minuet of this story and really enjoyed Justine Eyres' narration.

Excellent
An excellent novel, cracking storyline, well written characters, I like strong females, well narrated by one of my favourites. I just wish the rest of the series was available on Audible Uk as It is on the USA site.

There's something special...
...about this book. I always love a sarah maclean book, but Hattie and Whit felt so real and modern while being in a historical romance. I was drawn in like never before and I'll definitely be revisiting this book.
Narration was really good as well

Not a brilliant book
The narration isn’t brilliant in this story and it’s made the characters sound all the same . The ‘beast’ character sounds very dim and nasally. I really could not take this novel seriously or even get into it. I gave up by chapter 3. I wasted a credit.
