Things heat up, though, when Brawn and Becca are kidnapped by a lab looking to breed more of Brawn’s kind. With sultry and impassioned voice Vanessa Chambers performs this mix of science fiction, action, and sensual romance that will perk the animal instincts of any warm-blooded listener.
Summary
Book 5 in the New Species series.
One look at Brawn, and Becca is wondering how he’d look without his clothes. He’s also instantly attracted to her, but has sworn never to touch a human female. They just aren’t sturdy enough for the type of rough sex Brawn enjoys most. When he learns he’ll be living under the same roof with Becca, Brawn simply sees it as a chance to broaden his knowledge of humans. Hopefully he can do so while keeping his hands off her.…
His good intentions go astray when they’re both kidnapped and locked together in a cage. Brawn finds himself reliving a nightmare when he’s once again subjected to breeding experiments at the hands of New Species’ enemies - who will use Becca to get what they want. Brawn and Becca will have to depend on each other if they hope to survive.

Parts of this book were great, but the miscommunication hurt feelings side of it dragged out for too long for me and it got a bit frustrating. Still a decent listen, though.

Another great story
The narrator did another great job with voices, including the males. An emotional ride between Becca and Brawn - I really felt for him, but glad he finally got his happy ending. We met some new characters, who hopefully will appear in future stories.

You hear about the characters in previous books and you want to know what happens to them.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Brawn?
When he knows it is his mate on top of the van and his reaction to that fact,most nervous couple of minutes reading I've had in a good while.FAB!!!!
What about Vanessa Chambers’s performance did you like?
She portrays the characters well,you really feel as if you are right there in the book with them.

I felt for Tandi when Brawn came out of the coma and totally rejected her,felt the hurt she must have been going through.Then the total frustration Brawn was going through when nobody would believe he had no memory of what he had said to Tandi.

Great Read
As usual Laurann does a fabulous job of keeping you interested in this book number 5 of her New Species series. She does such a good job of developing her characters, you feel like you are right there with them. It is getting hard to say enough good things about Laurann's New Species series because each one is just as good as the last, if not better because she brings in new, creative stories with each book. Love her writing and her creativity as well as her descriptions of each person, place and thing. Especially love how she hooks me on the next book by giving a preview of the first chapter of the next book. Has me hooked from the beginning. Love her work.

I really love this series, it full of steamy sex, romance, and lots of suspense that will have your heart racing.
Brawn and Becca really have to work together when they are captured and locked in a cage. Brawn who's been a captive before is familiar with situation and is very angry but he helps Becca coupe as she has never been subject to this kind of treatment. Their capture brings them closer together but when the are freed, Becca's father ensures Brawn stays away from Beccca that is until a big secrete is reveal that will change both their lives.
Each story has intense heart pounding suspense and steamy sex with lots of attractions between the main characters.
I loved Brawn, he is another one of my favorite characters!

Another great one!
Have you listened to any of Vanessa Chambers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narrator is the reason that I have purchased every audio book in this series. The story is good but the narrator Vanessa Chambers makes this book a thousand times better!!! A narrator can totally kill a book and this is an example where the narrator just makes this book AMAZING!!! Great Job

Brawn can be skipped
Brawn and his female were idiots. Actually everyone was irritating in this book. Skip this because it's a waste of time.

Ugh, we kind of heard this one before
Book 5 in the New Species, and yes I'm still liking the books. This one was a bit repetitive though. Okay, new rule! No female is allowed to be taken by Mercile Industries, OR, one of the hate groups....pretty please?
Love the series, go ahead and start it.

Fine but could have been better
What did you like best about Brawn? What did you like least?
I think the basic story was good but I found Becka annoying. I liked Brawn but Becka was a pain in being so difficult. It was really a bit much and her anger went on way too long. She should have been easier to deal with earlier in the book so that we could see their relationship develop more.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Brawn is the most interesting. Like I said, Becka was annoying. I just wish they would have talked more because the mis-perceptions were silly. And boy, she had a potty-mouth.

Yes. I liked Vanessa's performance in this book.

Having read 5 books now, my favorite is Justice and my next favorite is Valiant. This one is my least favorite. I am sure the next one will be better.

Still Loving New Species!
My love for New Species continues to grow. I enjoyed Brawn all the way through until about the last two hours of the book. The story started off funny, with immediate intensity and suspense, I was in love, and then as everything was starting to come together things got really redundant and frustrating! It was like these two lovebirds couldn't get beyond their own stupidity and angst. Thankfully, by the last half hour of the book Brawn and Becca finally got their acts together and I was madly in love all over again!
This series has great narration, hot alpha men, and I like how the author has found interesting circumstances for the characters to find themselves in on their journey toward true love and an understanding of their new existence. These are not standalone books and I highly recommend starting from the beginning with fabulous Fury!

Women are just annoying in the book
Ok... I put this book off for so long... and now I know why I did....
NS is one great series...however... some of the stories (2 now) are really skip worthy...
Brawn was great... absolutely loved him...but Becca... Ok...seriously, when she got taken back to Reservation after she called in to Homeland to let them know she was prego... She acted like a total idiot. Brawn literally roared the house down to get to her...then in the middle of smex, when he claims her... she stops! WTF... Then she drug Brawn through the ringer after he said over and over that she was his.
Let's not even get started on Trisha's nosy butt... I wanted Brawn to smack her...
I think this one is a skipper. It's not need to following along in the series.. I should have skipped it.
With all that said... it was decent book. So this one is a "I like it , but I don't" book.
I would save my credit and pick this up on a sale...

4.5 Brawn Stars
Being as this is a reread I already knew I would enjoy the book. But I was surprised at how much I liked Brawn. I never gave his character a second thought from the other books.
Tim O’bearto I did though, I thought dang that guy needs to get laid. Hahaha so when you find out its his daughter who Brawn falls for you know it’s going to be a damn fine book to say the least.
I love Becca’s spunk, and how she doesn't back down. I love that she also feels so much but there is one thing I am not a fan of from her and that is how much she protested. I get why and all but it was a little annoying. But thank goodness for Brawn he showed her the way. Hahhahaha
Again I am a fan of the narrator! Vanessa does a freaking fantastic job with these characters…love, love, love.

I was SO looking forward to Brawn
I was SO looking forward to Brawn, but Becca blew it. Oh, she started out great, going toe to toe with her military father, acting like a spit fire and capable of handling anything. By the end of the book, I thought I was reading about a totally different person. NOT to female I saw for Brawn. Well, to each his own...wonder what's in store for Wrath.
