Summary
A DAILY TELEGRAPH BOOK OF THE YEAR
AN IRISH TIMES BOOK OF THE YEAR
The must-hear music book of the year.
In Bodies, author Ian Winwood explores the music industry's many failures, from addiction and mental health issues to its ongoing exploitation of artists. Much more than a touchline reporter, Winwood also tells the story of his own mental health collapse, following the shocking death of his father, in which extinction-level behaviour was given perfect cover by a reckless industry.

Outstanding commentary on (guitar) music
I spent years working with guitar bands and this book crystallised many of the feelings I had about that and reflected so much of what I experienced. A must read, particularly if you were a Kerrang! Fan.

Of all the music Bios read in 22
This is the business. It really is the absolute balls and all testimony from someone who was in the thick of the rock punk and indie scene
This fella has some stories to tell. First class book and the best one of all the bios read in 2022 without a doubt

An amazing listen!
Having read a plethora of biographies and autobiographies of my favoured musicians, this anecdotal book shines a startling light on a glamorised industry that has a much darker and sinister side. Ian writes and narrates beautifully, keeping me hooked throughout. There are many elements that I can relate to and hearing of his experiences and his success in overcoming his darker times, has given me an important ingredient in my own struggles. Hope. Thank you for this book

Well worth your time!
This is a hard hitting look at how the music industry normalises poor behaviour with little consequence intertwined with the story of the author's relationships to both family and substances.
Often funny, it's very detailed in how the music industry can chew people up and spit them out without having any safeguards for mental health or working environments in place.
Ian Winwood's narration is quite disarming, like a friend telling you stories and the detail is very honest.
