About this listen

SPLINTERED BLOODLINES. UNBREAKABLE BARGAINS. A LEGACY OF BETRAYAL.

The powerful sequel to the instant New York Times bestselling and award-winning Legendborn that's taking TikTok by storm. Perfect for fans of Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo, Sarah J. Maas and Cinderella is Dead!

The shadows have risen, and the line is law.

All Bree wanted was to uncover the truth behind her mother’s death. So she infiltrated the Legendborn Order, a secret society descended from King Arthur’s knights – only to discover her own ancestral power. Now, Bree has become someone new:

A Medium. A Bloodcrafter. A Scion.

But the ancient war between demons and the Order is rising to a deadly peak. And Nick, the Legendborn boy Bree fell in love with, has been kidnapped.

When the Regents reveal they will do whatever it takes to hide the war, Bree and her friends must go on the run to rescue Nick themselves. But enemies are everywhere, Bree’s own powers are unpredictable and dangerous, and she can’t escape her growing attraction to Selwyn, the mage sworn to protect Nick until death.

If Bree has any hope of saving herself and the people she loves, she must learn to control her powers from the ancestors who wielded them first – without losing herself in the process.

Critic reviews

"I love the feeling of a magical world existing just beneath the surface of our own and this story gave me everything I wanted: incredible characters, ancient lore and secret societies—all grounded in our very real, very flawed world..." (Leigh Bardugo, author of Shadow and Bone)

This is easily one of the best books ever… amazing amazing amazing…
I don’t even know what to say other than READ / LISTEN to it… you will not regret it. My heart was in a vice from start to finish.
Now… I’m going to sink into a deep book depression for a week or two.

Amazing from start to finish

Really captivating second book. Extremely unpredictable. Bri is so annoying but I guess that’s the trend of these books.

Captivating

Truly mind blowing, the story, the characters, the sheer EMOTION in the prose. Incredible. Beautiful. Raw.

A triumph of modern fantasy

I am really enjoying where this story is going and I can't wait for the next one! My one criticism is the attempt on the Scottish accent, it's a bit sketchy but at least in some respects you can understand it. I'm so intrigued in the directions of the characters and think this is brilliant.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this story and the premise is a very original take on an Arthurian legend, however, the instinct to orate Brie's voice to be high pitched and whining at times, made an already frustrating character extremely annoying. The oration of Nick, Sel and William was really very good. As someone who lives in Scotland, Larks accent was distractingly bad and took me out of it every time he was read.
I'd say, bar Lark, all the male characters are orated magnificently.

Excellent story, frustrating protagonist, whiny performance

Have been rereading the books since this one came out and still in love. Can’t wait for the next one

Loved it

If you’re going to attempt an accent, at least listen to it first. Other than that, I love the story and and the narration

Love the series, hate the accent

Loved the story, love the character development. Such a great story, can’t wait for the next chapter!
If Lark is meant to be Scottish the accent just need to be fined tuned in the audio but that minor! The story is fantastic!

Love love love
