Summary
Bestselling phenomenon Simon McCleave is back with a gripping, atmospheric crime thriller series set on the Isle of Anglesey!
The beautiful Isle of Anglesey has been rocked by the brutal murders of three female students at a local college. DI Laura Hart is called in to track down the murderer – who the papers have dubbed the Anglesey Ripper – before he strikes again.
She quickly identifies a suspect but just as she is about to pounce, he slips through her fingers.
Laura and the Beaumaris CID must pursue the serial killer across the island in an increasingly dangerous game of cat and mouse – but he’s always one step ahead of them. And soon, the hunters will become the hunted…
An explosive, edge-of-your-seat story that’s perfect for fans of LJ Ross, Ann Cleeves and Elly Griffiths.

Oh boy what a rollercoaster.
Preordered this book because we have enjoyed every thing of Simon’s that we have listened to. We listen to audiobooks together, in the car whilst travelling or on our Sonos system at home. This book had us so riveted that we listened in the kitchen, in the lounge and in bed, finishing the book in two days. Started listening to Simon’s books because they are based in our adopted country and what a pleasure that has been and this has been the best so far. Look forward to the next one, our only regret is that we can listen faster than Simon can write.

Fell for the cliffhanger twice
I enjoy these books and the cliffhangers have kept me coming back for more. I had to skip a few chapters of this due to what happened to Rosie- I’m very claustrophobic and couldn’t listen but managed the final few chapters.
Characters are good and narration is good although a bit nasal in parts.

Bit predictable
I really liked the previous books however it’s a bit predictable husband in the first son in the second daughter in the 3rd whose going to be in trouble in the 4th sister or boyfriend? It’s a shame because the story doesn’t need these family connections in trouble ( apart from the husband) much more believable if those in trouble were strangers after all she is a detective.

Brilliant story, well written with wonderful descriptions of countryside and scenery.
Great storyline, and no "curring and pasting". I love listening to and empathising with the characters and would love to spend time in the beautiful landscape of Anglesey. Just one thing, how do you pronounce Beaumaris?
