Summary

Two murderers on the loose. One relentless cop on their tail. Zero hope nobody dies.

DCI Harry McNeil is finally enjoying life outside of policing. But he’s forced back into all work and no play after a transport van explodes and a pair of convicted criminals disappear into thin air. And with his resources stretched to a breaking point and the escapees armed and dangerous, the Edinburgh detective fears nothing can stop more bloodshed.

So when experienced colleagues from Glasgow join the hunt, McNeil works the extra manpower hard to get the savage killers off the streets. But after the vicious slayings resume, the expert investigator and his team must race against time to stop a deadly spree of violence.

Can McNeil trap the ruthless felons before the body count rises higher?

Excellent story with a twist

Not as good as the others in this series but still really good. I like the mix of serious thriller and humour throughout.

Great series

Hopefully we’ll get more.
Love Angus King’s narration and his ability to voice so many characters. The sparring between Dunbar and Evans is hilarious and effortless from King.
I found this story the most difficult to follow because of the variety of characters but didn’t guess the ending.
More please Mr Carson!

A real twister

Advice to readers - make a wee note of who’s who as the plot thickens. It gets a little convoluted, but that makes it all the more enjoyable. Wonderful narration brings the characters even more to life. Recommend.

I am loving this detective series

Brilliant narration by Angus King, really likeable and funny characters and always a great twist at the end. My only negative is that I wish they were longer.
A ‘feel good’ read and I can’t wait for the next.
