Summary
You can't drown the dead.
When the brutally murdered body of a local geography teacher is discovered at Kilwinnoch’s famous beauty spot, Blood Water Falls, the community is rocked to its core. For DCI Duncan Bone, the killing appears to be an open and shut case. But it’s not long before a sinister clue unleashes dark and deadly forces, blowing the investigation wide open, and putting Bone and his team in grave danger.
With the town baying for blood, and too many suspects and not enough answers, DCI Bone faces not only the toughest case of his career, but the battle of his life to defeat the psychological demons determined to destroy him once and for all.
Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland's Campsie Fells, Blood Water Falls is the second in a series of edge-of-your-seat crime thrillers that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax.
Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J.D. Kirk, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

Compulsive
This was a great read and difficult to put down although the language was a bit strong at times it was needed for the story.

I couldn't put it down
Another fantastic addition to the series! DCI Bone still recovering from his last case with the peekaboo killer which nearly cost him his life, returns to work to look for a missing local teacher. When the teachers tortured body is found amidst a strange set of circumstances, Bone finds himself once again chasing a sadistic killer.
TG Reid together with Steve Worsleys narration weaves a well paced and thrilling story which is lightened by the burly but also funny DI mullens. The characters in Bones' team are likeable and realistic, and the author develops each of the characters with a backstory in their personal life's, which helps you relate to them.
I highly recommend these books, and need to find more by this talented author.

What was that all about?
An entertaining enough listen! Narrator was quite good. I liked his various accents! However I really don't know why the murderer did what he did it how he managed to avoid suspicion throughout!
Will try more by the same author but not until I have a free credit!

Another great Scottish crime series
I read a review criticising the use of ‘he said, she said, he interrupted, he muttered’ etc etc and I thought it was a bit petty to be honest but it definitely wasn’t. Steve Worsley is a fantastic narrator but it was as if he’d recorded a load of ‘he said, she said’ etc and just inserted them the end of the sentence. It was a very peculiar narration of all of them and there were plenty throughout the book. I nearly gave up at one point because it was driving me mad but I persevered. I just kept imagining Roberta Steele!!!!!

Hard to stop listening
A gritty narrative. Fast moving. A couple of times I thought I’d worked it out but no. It kept me guessing

keeps you listening
really good listen, I enjoyed the first book and thought this story was better, the banter between the work colleagues is great and makes you chuckle whilst listening and the storyline keeps you gripped until the end. You get a real feel of the characters and the narration is great 👍

the second DCI Bone is as great as the first
A fantastic follow up book in the DCI Bone series, following Duncan and his team of detectives, another great fast paced story, with plenty twist and turns, love the naration and the Scots dialect, makes it seem more gritty and real. highly recommended read, looking forward to the 3rd book in the series
