Having previously read this book I experienced It again on audible. In my opinion this outstanding fantasy tale could not have been better read aloud. Plaudits All round!

Jirel is one of the oldest female fantasy protagonists in the genre. She is fiercely independent and proud.

The character is also flawed with a bad taste in men, and many of the stories is how she will not let just anyone have their way with her. Letting her fiery temper set her on a path of adventure and personal freedom.
