About this listen
Blumwald is a town overshadowed by an ancient curse: in a sinister castle in the depths of the wild wood lives a monstrous Witch. Once a generation, she comes to claim a companion to return with her - never to be seen again. Now that time is drawing near once more...
Mina, daughter of the duke, is grieving and lonely. She has lost all hope of any future for herself in Blumwald. So when the Witch demands her next companion, Mina offers herself up - though she has no idea what fate awaits her. Stranded with her darkly alluring captor, the mystery of what happened to the previous companions draws Mina into the heart of a terrifying secret that could save her life, or end it.

Captivating, beautiful story
This book is absolutely poetry, so full of beautifully written emotion, magic and intrigue from the very beginning. The narration is perfect, I have found other books spoiled by the narrator not doing it justice, but this is a perfect match. I listened to this in a day as I just had to know more! a million out of 10! ✨️

I Really Liked This
Being a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, I was worried I might find myself already knowing what was going to happen, but the story told was beautifully written, surprising in its own way and I loved the development of the relationship with Mina and the Witch.
There was themes of self harm, abusive relationships and therapy terminology used which I think were all handled really well and were relatable and not used unnecessarily. It made me think that maybe this was personal experience of the without for herself or someone close. It was well done.
The narration was so, so well done, I would happily read more from the author and listen to more from the narrator.

It’s perfect. My favourite listen so far. I adore the romance but also the darkness that is explored. Just beautiful.

Beautiful
A lovely fairytale that draws inspiration from others, while retaining it's own unique identity. It has truly been years since I have read something that has enthralled me as much as this. Highly descriptive for great visualisation, and a beautiful slow burn, enemies to lovers relationship.

just amazing
everything about this book was perfect, the narration, the story, the way it's written, the romance, EVERYTHING. in fact I did something I've never done before after finishing the audio version, I went and bought the paperback! 10/10 would recommend to any lesbian who loves her rewritten fairytales!

A cosy fairy tale
A lovely book which takes in so many other magical tales and twines them together in a warming story

Erm ????
I loved the story/concept but no matter how much I loved and was invested in it I couldn’t help but sometimes feel like the pace of the story was too slow and sometimes overly descriptive making me feel slightly overwhelmed with all the information (that possibly may just be me with my easily overly stimulated brain)
