excellent!

I expected three short stories and instead got three captivating ones! A most unusual take on the original tales. I throughly enjoyed them all.

love all of the series

this series has strong females while still exploring all the aspects of human characteristics. start with the four kingdom sets then the beyond the four kingdom books. all the stories slightly interlock so that they stand on their own but also have more depth of read in order. the twins in the first two books here are just children in the first sets. great series, no sex so great for even younger readers or for like work environments.

Loved all three!

Fantastic retellings of these classics. Clean enough for a younger teen audience and more than enjoyable for us adults! So fun!

These books are the most amazing books I have ever read!

I’ve read the previous series, and these ones are just as incredible! By far some of my FAVORITE books, and I’m quite the book worm. I thank the author for such a good time listening and reading these books, and hope she will only continue to write as well as she did here! I fell in love with every character and every time wished the book would never end! They’re an adventure, and make you fell as though you’re inside of this fantastical world that Melanie Cellier has created! I couldn’t put the books down, and never wanted to stop listening! Best books ever!

super fun

These follow the original books about the four kingdoms. I suggest reading those books first if you are new to this series, though you can still understand and love these books as well.

Ok, so my review has changed since the first book.

The first book in this series made me want to scream. Mostly because the reader’s portrayal of male voices was grating to say the least. The next book was a LITTLE better and the story was fun. I am on the third book now and the male voices are acutely tolerable. What a difference a decent reader makes.

Romance and suspense rated PG!

This whole series is amazing! I love the retellings and how appropriate they are for any audience. I love that the little sisters get their own stories. While somewhat predictable, there are enough twists to keep you listening. I actually read this entire series during Covid and decided I wanted to listen this time. I loved the series both ways!

Rolling my eyes

If rolling my eyes were a beauty regime, I'd be Charlize Theron by chapter 4. Gads, the relationship building is awful. I feel no romantic buzz between the couples, even with instalove, it's just words with no juice behind them.
Uhhh...CPR wasn't developed till 1933 on a dog by ACCIDENT at Johns Hopkins University. 😒
Also, Lily knows marriage for love benefits the land. This story could go in a completely different direction if she or John realizes their union would benefit his dour country to prosperity. DUH!
Second book was much better, but the obvious was so glaring, it was frustrating it was ignored to carry on the story.
Final story was again much better, but I did keep skipping 30 seconds bc the relationship feels just weren't there. I didn't want to endure their proclamations of love as a relationship builder.

Enchanting

Beautifully written and performed. Both series were excellent. The retelling of our favorite fairy tales was very well reimagined.
