Summary

From the top-10 best-selling author of Snowflakes in the Wind comes a heart-breaking saga set in WWII Britain.

In Rita Bradshaw's Beneath a Frosty Moon, it’s 1940 and Britain is at war with Germany. For Cora Stubbs and her younger siblings this means being evacuated to the safety of the English countryside. But little does Cora know that Hitler’s bombs are nothing compared to the danger she will face in her new home, and she is forced to grow up fast.

However, Cora is a fighter and she strives to carve out a new life for herself and her siblings. Time passes and in the midst of grief and loss she falls in love, but what other tragedies lie around the corner? As womanhood beckons, can Cora ever escape her troubled past and the lost love who continues to haunt her dreams and cast shadows over her days?

Heartwarming

I have read all Rita Bradshaw novels, and this was my first on audio book. I live in Sunderland and love to hear the local places mentioned in all the books. I was handed my first Rita Bradshaw book by my late grandmother, and once read we loved to talk of the characters and all the stories. This one as always was a treat, strong female character and a heartwarming ending. Brings fond and endearing memories, of something me and my late grandmother shared. Thank you Rita Bradshaw.

Same old story

I have not finished this book as its the same old story. Children sexually abused this time! The majority of the books I have read lately, are somewhere in the book about abuse in some way. I am finding it hard to find a really good book with a really good story in it with out all this in it! I have tried different authors hoping but they seem to go for the same kind of story line, once you have read one you can guess what is coming after a few pages in.

I love Rita Bradshaw Books but this one was Brutal 😟

I have listened to other books by Rita Bradshaw and thoroughly enjoyed them but this book is just brutal!
Don’t get me wrong it’s a good book typical of Rita’s writing but the sexual abuse towards children was just to much and upsetting I just couldn’t listen to the book anymore and had to return it..
When I read the other reviews I thought people were overreacting but now I’m in total agreement..
I have too say the performance by Julia Barry was as usual Fantastic....

Awesome!

I loved this book so much I couldn’t stop listening. It was a lovely story and narrated perfectly by Julia Barrie. I think Rita Bradshaw gets the waiting... just right. Some books go on and you just need the conclusion or the inevitable to happen. Not this one, though I did find myself raising my voice to Alexa sometimes! All in all a great listen, Thank you
