Summary

How do you move on when he’s every song you sing?

After Laurelyn Prescott walks away from the love of her life, she returns to Nashville to pursue the only dream she has left. Determined to find a distraction from the pain of losing Jack Henry, she immerses herself in her music. But with her old life comes old acquaintances and new expectations. When Laurelyn refuses her record producer's outrageous demands, she finds herself without a career - until an unforeseen opportunity presents itself. From there it's a rocket ride straight to the top where Laurelyn finds the success she's always dreamed of. Will it be enough to bring her the happiness she so deserves, or will the absence of Jack Henry leave her wanting more?

Jack Henry McLachlan never expected to fall in love with Laurelyn Prescott - but he did. After he foolishly let her slip through his fingers, he spends three months searching for her, but their reunion doesn't come easy. The woman he finds isn't the same one who drifted away without a goodbye. No longer an insecure girl on an Australian adventure, this Laurelyn is a successful musician with a promising career. Her dreams are becoming a reality, and Jack is terrified his American girl won’t have a place for him in her new life. With only a month to convince her otherwise, will it be enough time to make her visualize a life beyond the glitz and glamor, a life that includes him?

Another Great Book in a fantastic series

Ladies, prepare to have Jack Henry melt your panties off! If it is even possible I am more in love with him now then I was before! He is simply amazing and such a wonderful man in Beauty From Surrender. Everything I loved about him in Beauty From Pain just multiplies in BFS and he is seriously the perfect guy. He is caring, LOVING, mature, sexy, rich, he is just EVERYTHING that is perfection. He might just be my ALL TIME book boyfriend, yep, that is right! ALL TIME.

Beauty From Surrender picks up right where Beauty From Pain leaves off. Those who have read BFP were given the first two chapters of BFS and know what a crazy cliff hanger/wait this has been. I was one of those bloggers stalking Amazon waiting for the moment it is released and devoured the book within hours! I read the entire book all in one night. I just LOVED IT!
What I loved most about BFS is it still had the same feel BFP had. There are decisions to be made, feelings to be expressed, all with a time clock clicking over the heads of Laurelyn & Jack. Though the story was different it still had that magical feel BFP had. I also loved that it was not cheesy or unrealistic love. They may have expressed their feelings but it wasn't over the top and Jack & Laurelyn were still themselves just like the last book and did not change.

This time around Laurelyn has big choices to make involving her future. She is in the driver's seat of their relationship controlling Jack and her future together. I just adore Laurelyn too! I love her sarcastic personality and her tough wit; she is my favorite book heroine. Jack Henry's mother also was a star in this book. Can his family be any better? Laurelyn is a lucky girl!

The book does leave off with a possibility for a third book in the series sometime down the road. I really hope there is one because there are a few things left to be unsolved and of course I must know how Jack Henry & Laurelyn are doing. I was seriously swooning over the lines Jack said to Laurelyn... gosh this man is my god... like seriously!

The first half of the book is slow, which I LOVED! Sometimes I felt BFP went too fast so this was a nice change and more drawn out. The scene of Jack & Laurelyn seeing each other again for the first time is epic. I am glad it was played out well & slow; made it even better for us readers. About half way through the book, the book picks up speed and quickly goes through weeks and months. I did miss the slow speed of the book from the beginning, even the ending was a bit too fast for me.

I love this book and though it might not be as amazing as the first book in the series Beauty From Pain it is still really great! There are still a few questions left unanswered for me... mainly where certain characters went. I hope this is leading up to a third book. Georgia has said she plans to write a novel or novella for Jack & Laurelyn's story but not for awhile, I want it SOON!

Beauty From Surrender is a great second book for the series. I am always worried about second books but this did not disappoint! Jack Henry alone makes it perfect but the story and characters keep getting better as well.

Is it finished?

I think it may be finished up but I'm not really sure due to one unanswered question. I'd like to think it is because it would be a good place to stop the story. I do think the author should of wrapped up all of the loose ends. I wasn't as good as the first book. I think allot of these books could be really good if they were just one book.Everything doesn't have to be a trilogy.

Such a Seductive, emotional and romantic story.

Any additional comments?

"How do you move on when he’s every song you sing"

First of all you must read the first book in the series - Beauty from Pain - this is not a stand alone book. I'm not sure if it is rare that a sequel is better than the first, but I thought this one was. I loved every part of this story. It was a nice mixture of both of their perspectives, humor, drama, and steamy Hot Romance. I very much enjoyed the double narration by Robert Black and Bunny Warren. This book, unlike the first, did not have a cliffhanger ending so fingers crossed there is the possibility of more to come and that would make me a very happy reader.

l LOVED THE BOOKS, NARRATED BY WRONG PEOPLE.

If you could sum up Beauty from Surrender in three words, what would they be?

Funny, Good, and Sexy

What did you like best about this story?

I loved these books, and it had a great story, just had to remember to stick to the story line and remember narrators only read, some are better than others. And I adored the music that was mentioned along with this.

Which character – as performed by Robert Black and Bunny Warren – was your favorite?

Going to have to say I love Bunny's interpenetration of of Laurelyn. She did a good job with Laurelyn and she even did good with Jack Henry. And I need to say again, I did love these two books.

If you could rename Beauty from Surrender, what would you call it?

I think the name was great.. it was a Surrender for both.

Any additional comments?

These are GOOD Books, first and you have to have the second to follow up. They are a great couple and it was cute, and I laughed at them, and also cried. If you can just keep in mind that the narrators are only reading this, you will enjoy this. It's good. You will fall for Jack Henry. For sure. you will...

What made the experience of listening to Beauty from Surrender the most enjoyable?

Finishing their story. Had to read to find out how things turned out.

What other book might you compare Beauty from Surrender to and why?

Any of The Marriage Series by Jennifer Probst and the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby.

What three words best describe Robert Black and Bunny Warren ’s voice?

Roberts voice - Sexy, Australian and rushed

Bunny's - nasal,weird but better

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Great ending. Well written. Loved the characters. Would loved for it to be longer with a bit more drama. Something's left unknown. Hate that. But overall really enjoyed the story. Narration better this book, or either I just got use to it.

Excellent Sequel/Ending to a Great Romantic Story!

The "Love Story" aspect of the book was great; however, Robert Black's portrayal of Laurelyn's voice was awful. Again, it sounds nasally. The emotional rollercoaster that the two lead characters go through is truly touching.

I truly recommend this book. I do suggest reading "Beauty from Pain" first to get the entire experience.

good the second time around

The second installment in the beauty from pain series was just as good as the first. This book could have been much better if not for the poor narration by the male reader. His accent was bad and he just sounded like he was trying too hard. That was the only down side to a very good series. I hope they find a new narrator for the next installment in the series.

Great Love Story

If you could sum up Beauty from Surrender in three words, what would they be?

Fantastic, sweet and loving

What did you like best about this story?

The pain and love of decision

How could the performance have been better?

Robert Black's accent as an Aussie is great. However, his voice of Laurenlyn was horrible. They should have had Bunny do Laurenlyn as herself. He does not do a good southern woman voice.

Who was the most memorable character of Beauty from Surrender and why?

Jack Henry. He was in love and thrown completely off by his feelings for Laurenlyn.

Any additional comments?

Narration is key to these audible books. Even though the story line was great and I will listen a second time to both books. I would like to have listened to better narration. I love a man with an accent but when a man tries to portray a women it just doesn't work.

Loved It

This story picks up where Beauty from Pain left off. You get points of view from Jack and Laurelyn. Jack has hired a PI to find Laurelyn and it's taken 3 months to hunt her down. Laurelyn left with the impression that Jack was find with ending their romance so when her career takes off she contemplates moving on with one of her band members. The drama doesn't end once they are hooked back up either. It's a lovely romance. The narration is excellent but remember you have the Australian dialect in there that might take some getting used to. This book is for adults only. Worth the credit or cash.

Love this series! Go ahead and get both books!

This book was great. I couldn't wait to see how it would end. The characters grow on you. Please, Ms. Cates, don't let this be the end of our listening pleasure write more. The narration was perfect. Robert Black nailed the voice. Hope to hear more from him. Bunny Warren you nailed it too. Thanks for the listening experience. The only problem is it ended way to soon.
