Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
Listen to this explosive insight into the previously unseen world of football club ownership by one of the game's most recognisable figures.
Multimillionaire at 32.
Youngest Premier League football club owner at 36.
His club and a fortune lost at 42.
Owning your childhood club—that's the dream, isn't it?
Simon Jordan made his fortune building a mobile phone company from scratch. When he sold it for £75 million, he bought Crystal Palace FC, the club he'd supported as a boy, and led them into the Premier League.
Ten years later, Palace was in administration and Jordan had lost nigh on everything. Be Careful What You Wish For lifts the lid on being the owner of a football club and how the game really works. Hopes and dreams sit alongside greed, self-interest, dodgy transfers, boardroom fights and dressing room dressing downs. Throughout no one is spared, least of all Jordan himself.
A finalist for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year.
Shortlisted for the British Sports Book Publishing Award for best autobiography.

Brilliant. Well worth a listen.
Compelling and very engaging. May only be Simon's version of events, but superb listen nevertheless.

How good was that?
An amazing 'read', I couldn't put it down! All great but the best parts were definitely when he took on Crystal Palace and ALL that went with it. Only Simon Jordan could've read this book right, the emotion rides, that dry humour and finally that feeling of despair. Brilliant book.

Excellent read
A fascinating insight into the perils of owning a football club , but also a great read from a very successful and obviously talented down to earth guy who took his chances and made his own luck in business,. but ultimately undone by what appear to be the many pirahs when large sums of money are involved.

Gutted it had to end !
I’m sure mr Jordan divides opinions but I personally think this man is bloody brilliant! Refreshingly honest , stands up for what he believes in and always stands his ground- and if the guy was to run for prime minister he’d get my vote!
Fair to say I’m a fan! He’s great on talk sport and I’m always internees to hear his opinions.
Because of this I bought his book but didn’t get round to reading it. When I saw it was on audible and narrated by Simon himself - I thought problem solved!
The book is as interesting as I hoped and gives a great insight to what goes on off the pitch and how people rise n fall and usually because of people you trust. I thoroughly enjoyed this and was gutted when it ended - hoping there is more to come

Amazing
The story was amazing and I like Simon Jordan ever more now than I did. It’s takes a lot out of a person when you suffer and lose something you try so hard to support.
