Summary
Would you keep a secret to save someone you barely know?
Angelina Stewart is a beautiful, bold, independent woman hiding a terrible secret. After returning home from a sea voyage, she is touted as a hero for saving her family’s ship and crew from a band of ruthless pirates, but Angelina feels like such a fraud. At the same time, her psychic abilities are becoming more pronounced as she attempts to unravel the mystery of London’s gruesome murders before she becomes the killer's next victim.
Captain Jude Deveraux is leading a double life. He and his band of French privateers steal, rob, and plunder unsuspecting ships that have the misfortune of wandering into their domain. Awarded a title by the King of France for bravery during battle, The Duke of Bayonne, aka Pirate Captain, Jude Deveraux, takes what he wants from the world as he and best friend Honore live each day as if it were their last. That is until the day Jude discovers that the only thing he truly wants is to capture the untamed heart of fiery tempered Lady Stewart for his own.
Angelina's Secret is the unforgettable introduction to the Jeweled Dagger series.

An interesting historical romance
This audiobook was definitely interesting. It had action, passion, humour, family, a bit of suspense and a wonderful HEA.
Angelina is a strong, independent-minded young lady with a firm confidence in her place in society and no desire to be married. She sets off to sail with her uncle and unfortunately their ship is taken over by privateers/pirates. Due to a lucky turn of cards, she liberates herself, her uncle, their crew and their ship. Weeks later she comes face to face with her pirate captain in London and things take another interesting turn.
There are two things worth noting: 1. the book is not entirely historically accurate. If the reader/listener is not bothered by this, the book is great fun to listen to;
2. the narrator, Hetty Elliott is a strong reader with good pronunciation and intonation but sometimes she can be a little heavy handed, in my opinion.
i enjoyed this audiobook and look forward to the next book in this historical saga style series!

Absolutely loved it!
I absolutely loved this book and my only disappointment is that books 2 & 3 aren't out in audio format yet!
Full discmailer; there aren't alot of paranormal elements in this book HOWEVER it is still wonderful.
I haven't been able to find a story I really enjoyed with depth and strong leads in so long and this gem finally broke my dry spell. If there's one thing I love in any story, it's a strong heroine and that's exactly what we get here! The hero is equally as awesome!
I highly recommend giving this a go!

Another unfinished story
Diane Merill Wigginton made the gravest mistake an author can make by not finishing this book. The story ended quite abruptly. This is a stereotypical romance with cookie-cutter characters and totally unrealistic plot. The history wasn't even accurate. Hetty Elliott's performance was adequate, but nothing to rave about. If I'd known the story was unfinished, I'd have stopped listening much earlier.

Swoon worthy
Wow! Loved this book. The story line was wonderful. It got a little dark in the middle but ended up with happily ever after ❤ The narrator was great. Can't wait to listen to the others in this series. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
