Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Nicole Blanchard comes a small town military romantic thriller where a single dad will risk everything to rescue a woman in need.

He doesn’t know me, but he’ll die to save me.

Or at least, that’s the gist I get when I’m taken hostage by a psycho with a gun. He’d meant to take a little girl, but I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t try to save her. Now I’m in her place instead and my captor is determined to blow it sky high unless his demands are met.

She doesn’t know me, but I owe her everything.

My daughter is my world. After I gave up my career as a Marine to move closer to be with her, I thought I would stay out of danger. And yet here I am diving right back into it.

The rush of adrenaline at a new mission is almost as enticing as the woman who saved my daughter. Getting distracted by her sharp wit and bravery is the last thing I should do, but I can’t help but be drawn to her despite the danger.

If we make it to morning, maybe I’ll work up the nerve to take the biggest risk of all…losing my heart.

Amazing storyline

This is a non stop action packed book right here. With good strong characters and a brutal, ruthless enemy it will have you hooked. I love how Nicole has captured these characters personalities perfectly. A great performance from both Susan and Stephen.

Good action story

What did you like best about this story?

I really loved how the story was centred round the rescue of the hostages on board the ferry. It reminded me of Hollywood action movies. I would have been happy for the novel to end shortly after the conclusion of the hostage situation but it switched direction and went down hill from here on out for me; with chapter upon chapter of sex, which I thought were unnecessary and could have been shortened or left out completely The hospital scene was particularly ridiculous.

What about Stephen Dexter and Susan Fouche ’s performance did you like?

I liked the dual narration. I liked the narration better when I played the book on a higher speed setting.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book for it's action and suspense but not the romance.
