Summary
In New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Kristen Proby’s brand new Romancing Manhattan series, three brothers get more than they bargain for as they practice law, balance life, and navigate love in and around New York City.
Finn Cavanaugh is known for being a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. He owns a successful law firm with his brother and brother-in-law in Manhattan. On the rare occasion that he has down time, he spends it at his home in Martha’s Vineyard. But when Finn’s troubled niece goes to stay with him for the summer in Martha’s Vineyard, he’s reluctant to take time off from work. That is, until he meets his beautiful new neighbor, London.
London Watson is a Tony Award winning actress on Broadway. When tragedy strikes her family, leaving her alone and injured, she flees Manhattan for Martha’s Vineyard. Hoping she can figure out how to pick up the pieces of her life, London is convinced that she’ll never be able to return to the stage. But when she meets the charming young girl next door and her sexy uncle, they soon lure London out of her shell as she finally begins to heal from the wounds of her past.
But when London feels confident enough to return to the spotlight, she’s dealt another devastating blow. Will the newfound love between London and Finn be enough to conquer all? Or will it be over before it has a chance to grow?

IT’S OKAY.. BUT SADLY, & IMO, NOT HER BEST WORK
When I look down the list of Kristen Proby audiobook titles most are either in my Wish List or in my Library because I like her style of storytelling that much.. but, for me, this story sadly didn’t wow or woo me. It IS enjoyable.. and I’m not going to sit here and trash talk it when I can’t even write a Novella.. but a lot of it felt a wee bit meh flat for my own particular taste.. I didn’t feel any chemistry, I wasn’t emotionally put through the wringer, I wasn’t on the edge of my seat, I didn’t feel any goosebumps or butterflies, I didn’t mentally sigh or swoon and the heroine’s “I’m rich too” attitude annoyed the hell out of me. Jeeezus, the man just wanted to show you that he was crazy about you - woman!!.. say “thank you” and move on - he knows your not a gold digger. I’m all for independent women.. but London took this to a whole new crazy town level and Finn was happy to move there for you.
Worth a credit? It’s okay, it’s easy-going, is got romance, sex and a splash of drama too and the dual POV narration was excellent so it should be creditworthy right? But it all felt lacklustre and superficial with no actual depth, I didn’t have that longing to get back to the story vibe, I didn’t crave and devour the next chapter and I was kind of relieved when it oh so abruptly ended. So all I can say is that, for me, this time it’s a no to the credit.. but maybe yes to a sale cash purchase. I will however try the next book in this series in the hopes that Kristen gets her mojo back.

I love Kristen Proby But....
Let me first start off by saying- I love Kristen Proby! I have all of her books on audible and pre-order the second one is announced. I have noticed lately that her books are all sounding the same, a secessful women meets swoon worthy man, the girl has a perfect job, perfect friends , etc; Man is also super successful and handsome- so if feels like the characters are the same just changing professions, and slight change in plot twist between each book. I haven’t been able to finish this one yet because it feels the same as her last books.

Unnecessary offense language
Story starts out interesting but repeatedly uses the”F” word when coming on to the girl. How not to impress an intelligent articulate woman.

Loved it!
Forget the titles... Kristen Proby is always a fantastic choice! I always come away from her books feeling entertained without a bout of angsty depression. This book was a win for me and I can't wait to see who's next in this series!

Not her usual
I can’t tell you how many of Kristen’s books I own but this one fell flat for me. All I could hear is a spoilt rich girl upset her man wants to buy her something. Finn was mature, sweet and supportive but good God she was annoying! Wahwahwah, lots of rich girl problems. Quite frustrating. This one is Sale worthy not credit worthy.

Predictable
The performances are the saving grace, but even they can't make up for a story that is so predictable you know the end before you're 25% into the narrative. The characters and the conflict were remarkably one dimensional, which is unfortunate because there was plenty of opportunity to make them so much more.

Foreplay book
If you need foreplay, this is the book. Performance was good. Story line predictable. Lots of sex "scenes."

Kinda feels like a rough draft
The characters sort of have a back story but a lot feels left out on some things. The whole build up to drama with the brother is kinda dumb because it only lasts for about 10 minutes total. The whole drama at the end of the book just sounds like a bunch of whining over nothing.
