Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The brand-new utterly hilarious and totally addictive romantic comedy from the number one best-selling Aisling series.

Aisling is 31, and she's still a complete Aisling.

With her cafe, BallyGoBrunch, flying and the door firmly closed on her relationship with boyfriend John, Aisling accepts an unexpected job offer and boards a business-class flight to New York in her best wrap dress and heels.

As she finds her feet in the Big Apple, she throws herself into the dating game, grapples with 'always-on' work culture, forges and fights for new friendships and brings her good wedges to a party in the Hamptons, much to her friend Sadhbh's dismay.

But catching up with family and friends on WhatsApp and email is not the same as sitting in Maguire's putting the world to rights over mini bottles of Pinot Greej and a shared bag of Taytos.

And yet New York has so much to offer, not least in the fireman department....

Had promise but didn’t deliver

Premise was ok and had potential but relied so much on the old reliable yank with Irish blood line and the john reappearance was lazy. Audio version desperate with the overdone accents - sadbh and gearoidín in particular which was a shame because aisling herself is voiced perfectly. Wanted to love this but was lukewarm at best. The echoes of covid story was pointless. wished they would either write it properly and make the effort or leave it out.

*warning* pandemic related content

I love the Aisling series so much, so cosy and well performed- feels like the characters are my friends- I’m so invested in them! My only criticism is I had to skip the chapters that are related to the BGB epidemic where people were told to stay in their homes and quarantine. COVID is not in the aisling universe but it was still a bit too much for me!

I loved this book so much

Struggled at first with the Irish accent which I absolutely adore just needed to slow it down and I was ‘grand’

Please make this book into a film…when is the next one out?

I need to work backwards and read all the other books.

Best listen to/read in the last 12 months I adored it love all the characters and wishes I was Aisling’s flat mate sharing her shenigans.

Brilliant

I had already read the book (and loved it) but listening to it brought the characters even more to life! I highly recommend either listening to or reading this book (make sure to catch up on the first 3 books if you haven't already). Aisling is one of the most relatable, warmest, authentic characters I've ever come across.
