Story
Delphine has worked hard for her success, and she knows she's got everything she wants. But not everyone agrees. Her opinionated family aren't convinced that living alone with no plans to 'settle down' could possibly make her truly happy, and no one appreciates it when she drops everything, day or night, whenever her boss Conrad calls. Yet Delphine wouldn't change a thing. And when Conrad makes her a surprise offer, it's clear that her hard work is going to pay off.

Story
Amanda King and Tess Cuffe are strangers who share the same Georgian house, but their lives couldn't be more different. Amanda seems to have it all, absolute perfection. She projects all the accoutrements of a lady who lunches. Sadly, the reality is a soulless home, an unfaithful husband and a very lonely heart. By comparison, in the basement flat, unwanted tenant Tess has spent a lifetime hiding and shutting her heart to love. It takes a bossy doctor, a handsome gardener, a pushy teenager and an abandoned cat to show these two women that sometimes letting go is the first step to moving forward and new friendships can come from the most unlikely situations.

Summary
Meet Greta.
She’s funny.
She’s flawed.
She’s hiding so much behind her big smile she’s forgotten who she is.
But Greta is about to discover that the key to being happy is...being you.
Greta Gale has played the part of the funny fat one her entire life, hiding her insecurities behind a big smile. But size doesn’t matter when you can laugh at yourself, right?
Until Greta realises she’s the only one not laughing. And deep down, she’s not sure if she’ll ever laugh again.
But with her world feeling like it’s falling down around her, Greta is about to discover she’s stronger than she feels. And that sometimes the best moments in life come when it’s all gone a bit pear-shaped....
Critic reviews
"Funny, warm, heartbreaking - and so real and honest, it made me squirm in recognition at times. You've never met a heroine quite like Greta Gale and you are going to LOVE her." (USA Today best seller, Catherine Ryan Howard)
"Move over Bridget Jones, step aside Little Miss Sunshine, because Greta Gale has landed! Greta is as real as women come." (Caroline Grace-Cassidy)
"There's something about Greta we can all relate to, and her story has, perhaps, never been more relevant or important. This is a novel full of heart, wisdom, and courage, and you're in for a real treat!" (New York Times best seller Hazel Gaynor)

Feel Good with Life Lessons!
This is a lovely story, sad, hopeful, uplifting, depressing, funny and everything in between.
The narrator is great, I have heard her read other books and she nails the accents for the Irish characters for the part of Dublin they are from in this book.
I'll be reading more my this author for sure.

Charming, funny and real
Greta Gayle is authentic and her life is full of challenges and triumphs. A Dublin actress who experienced fame as a child in a biscuit advert, Greta is plagued by night terrors and develops an addiction to sleeping pills. Her family is imperfect and loving and her Uncle Ray has had her back since the day he ended up delivering her. The characters in this book are endearing and listening to it was like enjoying a visit with a dear friend. Loved this book!!!
