About this listen
What do I do when a drool-worthy stranger steals my car?
Okay, so it’s not my car. But that’s not the important part. I’m currently hiding in the back seat from my carjacker-possible-psycho-killer, trying to ignore his sexy scent, lumberjack shoulders, and obnoxious singing.
And I think he knows I’m here.
Accidental Detour is a 17,000-word gay romance full of questionable decisions, attempts at holiday cheer, an unexpected road trip, and a car named Stella. This humorous Christmas story is a stand-alone with a HEA.

A great sweet and short story by DK Sutton. A fun and romantic journey. Kevin Earlywine did a great job with the narration.

Fun short holiday story
Fun, sweet, and cute, this super short story of insta-list/insta-love is great if you want a fast holiday read.
The narrator is awesome, I love how flamboyant and kinda silly (in a positive way) Jonas sounded, it fit perfectly with his character.
Could've been longer or more focused on the couple as opposed to focusing on the rest of the family, though it did add some funny moments to the story.

fun short book
short and sweet.
Loved Kevin's narration.
Jonas has so many thoughts going through his head when he realised his sisters car had been taken while he was sleeping in the back seat.
Zane his sisters ex boyfriends brother took the car, to try to get them back together.
Zane and Jonas are so funny together.
brilliant short , thoroughly enjoyed

Loved it
Another great book from Sutton and Earlywine. This dynamic duo are so pleasing to me at the moment that I'm having to listen to the books more than once. As with all of DK Sutton's book this one is super cute, paces well and ends well. Totally recommendable to everyone xx

Great Story & Listen🎧 Sweet, Fun & Entertaining!
This enjoyable, fast-paced story is will have you smiling the entire time. It is my first book written by D.K. Sutton, and it will not be my last, she is a gifted author and she fits an impressive amount of story in this short read/audiobook listen and the dialogue and witty banter was brilliant. I adored the two lead characters, Jonas and Zane, the two meet in such a non-traditional way, an unrealistic situation but the author pulls it off and makes it real with a twist and an unexpected connection. This is a short and sweet story, just what you need to brighten up your day. D.K. Sutton, thank you for this great story and fun ride!
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kevin Earlywine did a great job bringing these characters to life and their story to life. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona perfectly, and was believable in every role he played. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. Earlywine is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

Funny and Cute
Accidental Detour is a standalone short story with a pretty zany meet-cute scenario that’s pretty funny. The story is set during the winter holidays so it has the sweetness and cuteness you’d expect for a holiday story. However, the holidays really aren’t central to the story, so I felt like it was a great book to read at any point in the year. My favorite part of the whole book was the beginning part – the whole concept of being accidentally kidnapped due to repo gone wrong is so hilarious (but only in the fictional realm, obviously). I thought the characters were fun, and there was a sweet emotional moment near the end.
The audiobook was an easy listen thanks to the narrator skills of Kevin Earlywine. I enjoyed his performance and thought he did a good job performing the book. The audiobook production itself was well done.

4.5 stars for both story and narration
This was a very sweet and funny story. The characters were wonderful and the plot was entertaining. I absolutely would recommend it to anyone who enjoys light, fun, no angst, super cute short stories. This is in with other Holiday book recs but other than them needing to be back in time for Xmas, nothing else Christmasy is mentioned so u can read this any time or for anyone not fond of the holiday, this is for you. Just know there is some serious instalust but I wouldn't say there is instalove.
I only wish that it was longer. It was super short and I wanted to see more of their relationship develop on page rather than just a quick off page post summarization at the end. I still got to give it at least a 4.5 though cause it is so far the most entertaining short story I have read in a long time.
I've never heard of this narrator before but he did a great job. He soundsd age appropriate, he expressed the emotions well and although there wasn't a huge voice change for the different characters, I could definitely tell the difference with him doing a deeper tone for one and a lighter tone for the other. Even though it wasn't super obvious.

short and sweet
This was a short but sweet and amusing holiday romance. I enjoyed the humour between the guys, Jonas is very funny and Zane is very sweet towards him. With a length of 54 pages or just under 2 hours of audio time, there's no big set up, it's an instalove romance but the author still managed to put plenty of story in to keep me entertained.
The narrator Kevin Earlywine did a great job of narrating and I'll be looking to see what else he's done as he made it an enjoyable experience.

Perfect stress relief story
This is a really short story. Perfect as I needed something for a short drive.
It is funny right from the beginning. Zane is a sort of car thief, kidnapper but most of all a concerned brother.
Jonas while trying to get a little private time away from a party hides in his sister’s car when Zane takes the car. Jonas has the most unique personality and is such a joy in his interaction with Zane.
Both are busy representing their siblings, Jonas’s sister Peyton and Zane’s brother Dave, while Zane is busy trying to put the siblings back together.
This is the perfect stress relief story. It kept me laughing…a lot out loud…throughout the story. The “singing” by Zane and the thoughts of Jonas are way too funny. Jonas needing his blankie gave me a picture that totally gave me a laugh. The narration by Kevin Earlywine is perfect. He does a great job of representing each character individually, the snark of Jonas and the somewhat calm personality of Zane.
