Summary

Love can make monsters of us all. Some monsters are just more dangerous than others….

Torga, the man once known as “The Devourer,” survived the destruction of his own universe by the skin of his teeth. Now he's faced with an even more terrifying ordeal: rebuilding that universe from scratch.

At least he's not alone this time around. He’s saved his dear wife, Reina, by granting her the unparalleled abilities of a goddess, but he’s also painted an enormous target on her back in the process. Now, beings from across the multiverse want to take her newfound power for themselves, and they'll do anything and everything to get it. Torga has more to lose than ever before. The very existence of their universe hangs in the balance....

It's time for The Devourer to bare his fangs once again.

Love the story - feels like half a book

Series has been great, but for some reason this ooo felt very short to listen could have done been twice as long.

bad narration

This guy has no female voice at all and i couldn't tell the difference between the voice. I don't know if Travis Baldree was more expensive of would have tanking longer it get it narrated because he's very popular but i would have waited for him or paid the price.

Don’t do this

Fantastic voice actor, replaced the old one rather well.

As for the story… what on god’s green earth was that?? Want to hear about the other characters? Want to hear about the villainous group that was introduced a couple books ago? NOPE! We are wiping it all clean because i want to do something else but keep my two favorite characters. Start a different book series if you want to do that that badly, this just leaves a horribly shallow taste and ending to what was an entertaining series so far. No character development, no furthering of a continuous plot, just wiping it all clean. Every cliff hanger and peek in on another character from the last book is now meaningless.

First the Narration then the Writing.

Like many I was honestly shocked when I realized that Travis was no longer the narrator. Harrison just sucked all of the life out of this for me. The characters became flat, he really lacks range especially for female characters, and it felt very much like a rush Narration in places to where I had to check if I accidentally was on x2 speed. Then Writing went too where there was forced fights and conflicts that weren't necessarily and people actively working against their self interests for no reason other than that's where the plot was forced to go.

The voice actor is good.

I see a lot of people complaining about the voice actor. personally I think he did good job and rather than butchering a female impression he chose a safe route and used his normal voiceI can't judge. he does change voices for irrochi and other characters within.

this was a great continuation to the series, romantic and riveting battle descriptions. out of all the books this is my favorite in terms of power scale and something I can relate to choice wise. I would sacrifice anything for my signature other so it resonated with me.

Story had a dramatic change in direction

Basically, the story had a dramatic change in direction. It went from an adventure novel to a civilization building book the change in narrator kind of sucked. I can’t really tell the difference between characters by their voices, which means I have to pay more attention to win. He says, x character speaking.

Overall, it’s not a bad story. It is a huge shift from the original focus of the books in the narrator is not as good as Travis

I waited a long time for this

I followed the series since the beginning and waited a long time for this one to finally come out and while it was an enjoyable listen it is very different from the rest of the books in the series it feels like the author didn't like where the story was going and decided to just reset everything and starts from scratch but the story still good I still enjoyed it keep doing what you're doing and the New Direction it's going seems fun

interesting new path but...

I love the stories up until now. well I enjoyed this story as well. I see it's a whole new direction and I'm down for torga obliterating everything... but.. this story seems to have a lot more Reyna and her creatures too. I know they are important characters but do we have to hear their POV? I'm here for torga, plus Reyna is getting more full of herself. rather hear about torga finding his different kids and taking over the multi.

Unfulfilled and disappointed

I don't know why he got a new narrator but he's unfortunately bad.... his voices are all the same and unfortunately cannot do females. that being said I don't know why this book exists, like everything up till now doesn't really matter this is technically the new book one.
